good point ghost bro and might as well try it
They were all out. Apologies. However I hear there is another place in NY I'm gonna try and check out.
not, it is a good question
bourbon is a type of whiskey. scotch, japanese, irish, rye, canadian, etc are all types of whiskey/whisky
crown is a canadian whiskey. it is very different, taste wise, from a bourbon. though there are a lot of variances in the taste between bourbons too so
Thanks for the clarification tfk bro
@JRT812 what are you smoking? also, keep me posted how it turns out. I love to bbq and smoke and would love to try that if it is good
@tfk_fanboy bro. I will probably just experiment on something forgiving like a butt to see how I like it. I usually go with with apple cider vinegar and apple juice as a cut on bbq, but this bourbon thing had me intrigued. After talking with a local bbq joint owner I thorougt why not give it a run.
for a butt I usually don’t wrap because of the bark but he said he he sprays every hr until they smoke for 3 hrs. Once they hit 160 he wraps with the same juice inside. I’ll be honest it was pretty darn good. His rub is different than mine and will say his bark was a little soft. However if I can somehow figure out how to combine the two ways... it should be killer
just messing around
we should def. have a bbq/smoking thread. I use a pellet, a stick burner, and a kamado
I was thinking after I asked you that question that I have used the jack daniels wood chips. I always preferred it with beef but the smoke is different than the spray. I am def. interested in your thoughts once you do it
thank you! I really appreciate it
I love my Kamado grill and my sous vide, two best things a man can have
absolutely! sous vide is underrated and too often looked down upon. I love mine and I use regularly.
I know how to light a grill and put a piece of meat on it. I even know to flip the meat halfway through. Beyond that I know nothing, and I would genuinely appreciate a dedicated thread so you guys can share your knowledge.
Googling sous vide right now. 🤗
@AnotherDawg , I think I'll start a new topic in the 5 Star Chef Zone dedicated to smoking and grilling. What do you think?
@ghostofuga1 Yes! Yes! Please do. And thanks.
I've created a dedicated thread to compliment this thread in the DawgNation 5 Star Chef Zone category..
I'm ready to see some good stuff you guys can offer. If any is half as good as your taste for Bourbons, it should be a winner all around...
10-4 on the sous vide...I wouldn’t cook a steak any other way now. Sous vide and a reverse sear on a 650 degree plus kamado is, to me, the only way to go!
