Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I’ve been interested in the sous vide. I’ve seen some amazing results. I want one to try out. Maybe for Father’s Day.
anova is what I use. a lot of brands out there but they are one of the two big ones. though instapot has one either out or coming and that is a big brand name
if/when you do then I really recommend some time on serious eat's website and one youtube channel, I can grab the link
they can do so much more than most realize, way beyond steak. and they excel in consistency. it is kind of like a super accurate crock pot
Thanks for the direction my man. I added a reminder on my phone to check it out. I’m impressed with the concept for small things. The wife doesn’t like the idea though. She always comes around when I lead her then new promise land
men test ideas, women test men
Great quote. Never heard it before.
I can second the Anova recommendation; I’ve had one for almost four years and it’s been great!
Got my barrel yesterday
spoiler alert: the bourbon I have championed the most in this thread won
Good article. Thanks for the link.
Grabbed these yesterday
I grabbed these yesterday. Woodford is on sale for $27 through NCAA tournament time...I'll probably buy a few more!
All three are great IMO... What did you give for the Weller SR if you don't mind me asking?
No worries...for the 1.75L bottle I pay $35 plus tax. 1 liter bottles are $28, not sure about the 750ml.
The SR is my favorite "standard price" bourbon for everyday sipping. That said, I always seem to have a more liberal pouring policy when it's a 1.75L bottle...not sure why! 😀
I have never seen the 1.75L around my neck of the woods.... wished I could find one
Grabbed a bottle of Larceny today while out for lunch, will give it a shot tomorrow night...
nice! I picked up another bottle of Angel's Envy, McKenna BiB, and some Bushmills yesterday
Some of this stuff can be hard to find
If anyone ever stumbles across EH Taylor Barrell Proof or Blantons straight from the barrel (STFB, their barrell proof version).... please let me know if you find it and don’t purchase it for yourself
if you want me to hunt for anything for you please let me know
enjoying some Japanese whiskey tonight. only had Japanese once before but it is lighter, more floral, than anything American
Never tried it, but you've caught my interest.
Speaking of Japan, I'm a big fan of sake. I grew up on bad sake served hot (and I loved it). But a nice bottle of chilled sake is something else. Worth a try if you never have.
my experience is limited so I am not knowledgeable by any means but try Hibiki or Nikka coffee grain or Toki
forget I had the nikka before so I am on my 3rd bottle, not second
