Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

This would be perfect for the Dawg-Gone-It thread rather than a thread of its own.
Not criticizing you Dville, just trying to spread the word about @tfk_fanboy's "dumping grounds" thread. That's what it's there for.
Shoot. I forgot about that thread. Mods please close this and move it or whatever you magically do.
Nah- no need to close this. Might be good for folks to see the exchange.
BTW, a friend sent me that obit earlier today. Definitely classic.
Thanks. I would have liked to have met him. I think.
Man, that was an awesome read. Would of been a fun uncle to of had for sure.
On a similar note, here's a good book that you or others might be interested to read:
We are friends with Fred’s widow who survived the car accident.

It sounds like a very good book. I'll get it ordered. Thank you.
That’s a solid dude as well
He must have been an awesome man to know.
If I ever die I hope something kickas$ is written about me and not some lame, button up, generic comment
As an old goat speaking to a young buck...
If that's what you want, write your own obituary today, the way you want it to read. Then live it.
“If I ever die” man I like your style lol

Sound psychology right there, AD. Nice job.
The cited obits say more about the writers than they do about the deceased, but to give some credit, they far exceed the vast majority of obits of older folks. Most of those are "he liked the lottery, fishing, and his old dog, Blue" type.
As @AnotherDawg said +/-, everyone should write their own and have it known that it exists. I wrote one that is not especially a narrative, but with a lot of facts and names spelled correctly. If someone wants to write an obit that speaks about work/career, there are some details; or being a veteran, some detail; or education, some detail, parentage and family - some details. No one will publish it as is, but whatever emphasis one wants to make, there are facts.
To me it is like what I discovered too late in life. Being modest is a much overvalued trait.
