Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

National Name Yourself Day
If you could choose any name for yourself for one day, what would it be? Is there any name you've wished you could have?
It's also National Prisoner Of War Day...a day to honor POW's. My dad was held as a POW by the Germans for 14 mos after bailing out of his P-51 Mustang over Germany. He had 3 kills before getting hit by anti-aircraft fire on a bomber escort mission.

I would be Tonto Goldstein, but friends could still call me Bubba.
Probably some double entendre pun name with mischievous intent.
Any name other than the one I got. My parents went to Cherokee when mama was pregnant with me so I got a very odd english name. It might be a very common Cherokee name though. Then they topped the cake by using Jon as my middle name. Growing up in the 60's as a girl with an odd first name, the middle name was of no help whatsoever.
A special prayer sent up for all POW's and a huge Thank You.
DvilleDawg. As a fellow child of the 60s, though male, it seems a girl having a masculine name back then could be sort of liberating.
WC, it might have been if I hadn't lived in such a small town. A girl with the name Jon was unheard of and just weird to my friends and classmates.
Pardon the generalization. Girls and names. Knew a Mary Louise who insisted on being called Louise. Knew a Louise Mary who insisted on being called Mary. Many girls (and later as women) enjoy having a unique name. Guys generally are more conformist in my experience. Knew a guy named Hugh that hated his name. This is when Hugh O'Brien was big on TV (ancient). No figuring names.
Dville - kids can be **** nozzles. If you'd been able to see as much back then, it might have had a liberating affect on your perspective. Once you're off the conventional wagon, you're free to be yourself. It happened in the south with people like Truman Capote in that era. If he'd conformed to standards who can say if he'd of developed his unique perspective and creative impulse.
and the winning post goes to
I'd change my name to Mike Trout.
So you could sign some checks?
Had a regular customer years ago at local dealership who’s name was Horace Dick.
I wouldn't mind rolling with my p0rn name (you know, first dog + street you grew up on)?
Rocky Longview
Also, when I was young, I had three close friends named Ran Barton, Trip Gray, and Fell Herdeg.
Ran, trip, and fell. (No joke.)
Have a nickname and it isn't "Ace" 🤣
