Limas are one of the healthiers beans around...fillled with tons of good stuff. How do you best like yours cooked? Very versatile food - good in soups. stews. as a side dish etc.
Keeping the theme on food, it's also National Cheddar Fries Day. Melted cheddar on top of some yummy fries is a great treat. Any other "exotic" fries that you like?
Does your G-Day meal include either of these >?

My favorite limas are the ones that don't make it on my plate...not a big fan!
Cheddar fries? Now that's a different story...yum!
My bride fixes baby limas and tries to pass them off as butter beans. They are good but can't out do the real Mc Coy. Now I'm gonna have to fix some butter beans for supper.
Got so excited about butter beans I posted a blank!
Same ting:
Cracker Barrel’s Lima beans are so good
I will never ever ever never ever like lima beans. Now give me some speckled butter beans and I'm good.
With okra in them. Like it in butter beans as well
Stewed tomatoes and okra over white rice with a side of butterbeans, can't beat it and about as Southern as you can get.....
Ooh, okra, butter beans, fresh corn and some cornbread with a green onion and you have the perfect meal.
Ghost did you start out in south ga? Or am I just thinking we're that much different in eating habits than up there in north ga
I can respect them, but I don’t have to like them. Not my favorite but I can eat them
JRT they're just beans . You dont got respect them.
Dont know if I've ever eaten greenLimas . Eat dried ones on rice with alittle onion or hot sauce on top
Not a fan. In the bean family’s they are towards the back of the line, but they are in front of pinto, if that helps it to feel better about itself.
Born at Piedmont Hospital on Peachtree St. Raised and lived in Metro Atl. for well over 40 years. Moved to the North GA mountains in 2003. Took a few years to convince my wife (from Ohio) that Black Eyed peas and turnip greens are mandatory on New Years' Day....along with skillet cornbread of course.
