Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

The number of times per day my heart rate goes up bc of the forum isn't healthy, tbh.
When Evans initially dropped his top 5 and it didn’t include TX/TAMU, that obviously made us very confident we would land both Milton and Evans. My posts about that were bullish on both at that time. About 2 weeks after his initial top 5 was released, it made the rounds that he had secretly visited TAMU, still not confirmed. He then spent a few days at Bama after George committed there. In checking in on that visit, I was told that Evans informed Dell he had no interest in truly attending bama and was just checking them out; he didn’t like the culture there. Then it goes public that he went back to both TX schools and updated his top 5. Keep in mind he’s reserved a spot here.
In parallel to this, I heard the name Chaney mentioned heavily (4 times in a week) and Dell was all on him. Tank was told he was was still being evaluated and staff wanted to see his verified speed, & Lloyd was still being communicated with by Dell. These are things that are now public. On Tank, the magic number was 4.5 40 for Dell and he hit that.
Back to Evans. There’s no question we want him. There are concerns that staff will go through the song and dance and are left at the alter with him. Last week I got a text saying Evans is going to TAMU and has verbally given his silent commitment (but he’s already silent here, right?). So this is exactly what he did with Dell. Fun recruitment.
Meanwhile Tank comes into the opening camp and does what staff asked him to do and is a DSGB. That last part is very important here.
Here we are today. I don’t have confirmation that Tank is the take yet, but all signs point that way. He’s waited for this moment and went out and took his opportunity. FTR, I do feel Dell could pull Evans but 2 birds in hand...
I’d anticipate Tank to choose the Dawgs whenever he’s done with his process. Evans will go TAMU. Lloyd will not play for the chickens, he’ll be closer to his home. Chaney won’t flip because we won’t be pushing after August. Lots to take in here but that’s where we’re at on RB.
A normally reliable poster on another board chimed in that Raym is picking OU. Staying close to family and the dream school growing up.
Oh well. Can't say that I blame the kid when looking at our depth chart and the distance from home, when he can stay in his own backyard and play for a top 5 program there too.
Which poster?
Bulldog Bob?
@SoFL_Dawg
I'd take Tank right now with zero hesitation.
He's an in-state kid. We told him what we wanted him to do and he did it. Shoot, that's a good attitude to have out of the gate. We've seen stuff like you describe Evans doing before. It doesn't usually end well, and I don't see a control-what-can-be-controlled staff like Kirby's being ok with a commitment as important as a second RB go late due to shenanigans. If they're willing to do that, I am concerned.
Tank proved himself; and personally, I just want to say, "give the ball to Tank." That seems like it'd be fun.
Well that Raym news above is not what i expected. I guess we will see what happens soon enough.
If true and he stays home, does Pittman go hunting or look further into 2021 ? (Assuming here we land SVP).
Id be ok with Pitt starting to lock in on 2021
Others have said this including @SoFL_Dawg , but I think that we take SVP and call it a day with 4.
I will say I understand why we need the numbers on OL but if we were to miss, and that spot is reallocated elsewhere, that wouldn’t be such a bad thing. There’s some talent we’re letting walk due to #’s especially on defensive side of ball.
Ive not seen 4 OL class mentioned
@LOR When going big game hunting its never to early to look a year ahead
Example - B Jones in this class
I'm over the moon with Milton and Tank. Would I love Evans? Sure. But I don't really want to see us left hanging like last year.
I've been wanting Milton since last year and I like Tank both as a player and a Georgia kid. Most schools would be over the moon with just Bigsby lol. High cotton. Though if Evans or one of the other 5 stars committed tomorrow I'd wish Tank well. 😉
The word was if we don't land Raym, we'll just stick with SVP and allocate that 5th OL spot to a different position for this cycle.
