Charged and convicted are 2 different things.
Never said he did something wrong per say just that it is a bad look.
Thank you. I was starting to get worried that nobody was going to toss any gasoline onto what will assuredly soon be a dumpster fire of a thread. I guess all that there is left to do is sit back and roast some marshmallows. Best of luck to all combatants.
Gotcha and somewhat agree. It also depends on where you are and what you’re doing. Most of these kids live in “the bad parts of town”. If you live in one of these places you have to understand cops are trying to keep crime down. Yes there’s exceptions to that rule. Long story short do what you’re supposed to and don’t let yourself be put in those situations.
Saying its a bad look means you felt he did something wrong but none of us know his mental mindset. I also dont think its anyones concerns what the kids views on life is. Most "fans" just want these guys to play and not give a thought to these guys personal lives. Its really a odd thing. You get viewed as a role model until your thoughts as a role model aren't in the mold of the fan.
I get where you’re coming from. I thought it actually was something he did.
Personally I think the kid has the right to say what he wants just as others have the right not to like it.
I personally don’t really buy into the “all cops are heroes” narrative. With the advent of modern technology it’s pretty obvious to me that there’s good AND bad ones, though if we’re being honest I think everyone can admit that there’s always been bad apples.
Thats not true. Im from St. Louis, Mo. Based of the bews and view of my area you'd think its a bad part of the country. It isnt. I also noticed a lot of police from the area had no issues and respect while cops from other parts of town had a hero's complex, disrespectful, and felt they are the highest authority of law. Minding my own business and doing right also got me arrested twice (not convicted but 24 hour hold)_. So maybe I don't know anything... 🤷🏾♂️
Rian also said "I don't see a problem"
It's twitter. I didn't see a problem either. it was hot as balls last weekend. It probably felt good. People have been arrested. If it was really a big issue, and they were really mad...they probably just would've shot those kids and gotten away with it. Instead they did the best they could in the situation and walked away. Now they've gone back and arrested them. Thankfully they didn't get shot. Or choked out.
I don't see a problem.
Ok I’ll agree with you there, and I’m all for him having a different opinion but he probably shouldn’t have posted it on social media for everyone to see. The likelihood is small but say there’s a pro LE booster sees that tweet has a conversation with Coach or doesn’t donate as much next year. His actions effect more than himself.
That’s a ******** comment and I really wish you weren’t a mod.
*Edited for language. No profanity*
I’ve been put in handcuffs because I was in the wrong part of town leaving a gym. Had a permit for my handgun. Maybe I don’t know anything either.
Kind of goes against your desire to have a conversation of the issues like you said from earlier, but I'll add it to the pile
Having a conversation and insinuating police officers would shoot or choke someone out for throwing water on them are not the same. But it just speaks to your moral compass.
Cops have certainly shot black people for less than throwing water so I don't see why it makes kasey immoral to observe that its a possibility. NYPD choked Eric Garner to death for selling loose cigarettes
It's happened in NYC for far less, that's all I was saying. Eric Garner was choked out for selling loose cigarettes and died. And I'm not sure how any of my comments speak to my moral compass. I'm just trying to walk a mile in the shoes of someone with different skin color than me.
But back to your OP...you said it's a "bad look" for Rian. It's a tweet. Five word sentence. Shrug emoji. And you called it a bad look. I don't think it's a bad look. I could see where it's construed as a questionable tweet, but he made no definitive statement about the actions that took place in the video. Just said he didn't see a problem.
I’ll give you the chokehold was wrong, Eric Garner was a large man and actively resisting. To say he was completely innocent would be telling a half truth. Please name an instance where cops have shot people for less than throwing water. Except the one in I think it was Minnesota where the cop asked for the guys license then shot him. That dude should have went to prison.
It's 5:30. Do you think the recruits are eating BBQ yet
@bigdawg2223 here's a story where cops have shot someone for less than throwing water
Pay attention meathead you’re sayin the same **** that he said sorry felt like a good place to quote Eminem. Again the chokehold was wrong but he was actively resisting.
A questionable tweet, a bad look. Tomato Tomahto
Maybe it’s ok to generalize races if we can generalize cops right?
Thats garbage thought process.
“Some cops did something wrong once so we can talk like that about an entire noble profession.”
So that’s good for everything? Doubt it.
