Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Yeah that looks about right to me...Of course the gator fans are going by Athlon sports mag. where he was listed with the 1s.
Important fact: Kirby said that Cox left of his own accord. This is important in so far as if Cox was dismissed he would be immediately eligible under the NCAA "Run-off" rule. If he left on his own he would have to sit a year. If a player has his scholarship withdrawn/cancelled he can transfer without having to sit a year.
If you don't mind me asking, is there a certain website you use for this info?
Key part
n cases where an athlete was run off by a coach or essentially had their scholarship pulled for non-disciplinary reasons, the NCAA will require a written statement from the athletics director at the previous school stating whether the athlete would not have had an opportunity to return to the team and why the athlete is transferring. The committee is being instructed to deny cases where the athlete can’t document that they’ve been run off. That marks a change from prior protocol, where a key determining factor in "run off" situations was whether the previous school objected to the waiver request
My comment - If the player quits obviously he wasn't run-off. If the school dismisses him they would have to show it's for disciplinary reasons. In these cases as with employment they would have to show it's consistent with past practice to avoid discriminatory charges. Without knowing why he left it's hard to know if he would have a case. For instance is being a disruptive influence in the code of conduct handbook as an offense that results in dismissal. I know the spring charges alone would not be consistent with the handbook. If he got into an argument with another player or staff and said "I can't play here anymore" then he quit. All of this is conjecture but if he quit it is harder to claim he was run-off.
I have no idea why he is no longer on the roster and wish him well.
He may not play in 2019, but he’s likely already downloading everything he knows to the UF staff. This may require signal changes and some scheme wrinkles when the Cocktail Party rolls around.
Can we put to rest the need to panic!
He can not hurt Georgia with his knowledge of our defense. Florida, as well as every team we play will know our defense - backwards and forward.
Hand signals are changed many times during the year and sometimes during the game.
Brenton Cox may hurt us with his talent - but his knowledge will have zero effect.
I don't know that it was his decision
Here's tweet y'all should check out.

He was apparently replying to some info stating he basically quit. But that tweet was deleted for being paid info (247 I would guess). Anyone know what said info is
Sorry, didn't realize that. They took it down quick but I made a screenshot of all 4 pages that were up. I'll have to summarize it in a little bit when I get a sec..
Here's short summary of the 4 page tweet...
During the conditioning session of early fall camp all players were hitting their required time set for their runs except one player, Cox. He was missing team time. At one point while he was getting coached up by his teammates he put his hands up and flipped off the whole team. Day 2 of practice while Lanning was coaching the OLBs, it was obvious Cox was disinterested and wasn't motivated. Nolan, Azeez and JJ have been balling out during the off-season and started to pass up Cox on the depth chart. They were getting praise by Kirby on the mic where the whole field could hear. It became clear Cox was slowly getting bumped outta playing time. Monday when the word broke that Cox will no longer on the team, it wasn't a surprise for many in the know. Players/insiders were quoted saying, "He didn't buy into team sh!t.", "He wanted to do his own thing. He was a piece of work when it came to coaching and off-the-field stuff." and "That was a bad deal. That OLB room just became alot better".
I meant the decision to attend Florida. Given the culture of that program, doesn't seem as though he will get the discipline he needs. And I hope he didn't choose that school out of anger against Georgia's players or coaches. That could also be unfortunate in the long run.
Oh I gotcha. It's clear we were referring to two different things. Yeah, I agree with you. If he picked Florida just to troll Georgia, I have two things to say about that.
First, that would be enough to convince me that Georgia is consciously trolling Florida via recruiting. Otherwise why do the same thing in reverse? He would have to get the idea from somewhere.
Second, he's's thinking emotionally and not rationally. Dunno if that's a recipe for success for the young man, regardless of where he goes. Here's to hoping for the best.
@KetchupDrinker Although I really apperciate the info please don't post screen grabs from other websites. Just summarize what was said and provide a link to it.
