Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:

    Harmless indeed. I appreciate the need for the NCAA, but one cannot help but notice they wreck a lot of lives in the process of protecting OSU... I mean protecting the student athlete.

    I'm not so sure. If I've read this correctly, what transpired is that Ms King instructed a student worker to do something that was impermissible under the rules. Granted, the infraction might have been minor, but it was still an infraction. UGA then took action by imposing self-imposed penalties that included suspending the student worker from recruiting activities. We broke NCAA rules and imposed a sanction to make up for it. Sounds unfair to the student worker because the student was just doing as told by Ms. King; however, that was the price UGA told the NCAA it would pay for breaking the rules.

    Ms King then objected to the student being placed on suspension, but was told the suspension still stands. Ms King then continued to involve the suspended student worker in recruiting activities. Ms King was THE REASON the student worker was suspended, and then she broke the rules again by defying the administration and involving the student worker in more recruiting activities after the school told the NCAA the student worker would not do so.

    She was fired for very good reason. Insubordination and inability to follow the rules. She was the coordinator and didn't know the rules, and then refused to follow orders.
