3 quick takeaways from Georgia's 63-17 win over Murray State
ATHENS — Georgia is worthy of its No. 3-ranking, but for the second consecutive game, the Bulldogs revealed growing pains. One week after Vanderbilt’s defense exposed some UGA offensive weaknesses, a scrappy Murray State “Air Raid” attack spread out Georgia’s defense and provided Kirby Smart more areas to work on. It

I don't know how many times Kirby has to say it before the press understands. The goal is excellence, not perfection. The latter can never be achieved, and the standard of excellence is a high enough bar. After two weeks, we aren't there yet (not even close) in many areas of the game. Plenty to work on, individually and as a team. Also plenty of positives to build on. Keep chopping wood. Bring on Arkansas State.
As great as the catches were, what impressed me most about Pickens was his downfield blocking on several occasions. He is definitely a stud receiver, but in an age where wide receivers tend to be "me first" types, Pickens seems to be all in with Kirby's "team first" mentality.
Another quick takeaway. TN did us a huge favor when they lured Chaney to Knoxville! I like what I'm seeing of Coley. Last week, he kept the clock running after we got out to a big lead in an away, division, conference game even if it was Vandy! Good teams with leads have suffered losses this year because they did something dumb to let their opponent back into the game. This week, against a total mismatch, Coley allowed Stetson to continue to run the offense when Fromm left the game rather than just working to shorten the game. Very smart!
Congrats to Coach Tucker for his team's big come-from-behind win against Nebraska!
A whole lot of positives from this game and, as stated, some areas to get to work on. I am confident this coaching staff will do their jobs and get them corrected. Great to see so many young players on the field. Lots of hustle and great effort. I think we all saw a lot of motivated players out there that “want it”. Bulldog Nation is truly blessed to have such a collection of fine young men representing this university. Go Dawgs!
Happy you’re back
im Not sure who turned the switch on our offensive scheme in the second quarter but that is what we’ve been waiting to see for 8 months!
also, we have to obliterate Tennessee. That place is a dumpster for right now and o don’t know if we could ever recover from stumbling against them this season
I love the fact that Eli Wolf is gonna surpass his 2018 stats in his 3rd game next week. While his fumble hurt, he has been great for us so far.
Thanks @Kasey
