Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

WATCH: Kirby Smart not looking ahead to Notre Dame, focus on Arkansas State
Georgia football coach Kirby Smart says Arkansas State is the focus, and no one in his football building is working on the Notre Dame game plan

One game at a time, that's what it takes. Put all your focus on the opponent you are playing this week. I love the Dawgs, but there is a thousand things they can improve on. You should never be tied 7-7 against a FCS foe. No FCS QB should be able to complete 20 of 25 passes against the Dawgs defense. I understand the defense only gave up 10 points, the other points came on a pick six. Are we ready to take on the big boys yet? I don't think so. We will all know Saturday September 21, 2019. Coach them up Kirby, they only have one more scrimmage.
I haven't yet seen much Havoc from the Dawgs defense. 6 sacks against an FCS foe, heck Florida had 11 against Miami. and opponents are opponents, but is Murray State the equal of Miami? I don't think so!
Bama seemed to work it out against Citadel last year
Yep, both games showed us that we are VERY close to being a polished Championship Team, but everything isn't quite perfected yet. We definitely looked impressive after the 1st quarter, but it may be that Murray State just didn't have the depth to maintain that level while a tougher opponent might.
I agree that it's the best approach. We need our 1st strings to complete a shutout (or at least no TDs). Final score doesn't matter too much with 2nd/3rd strings, but yeah, in addition to controlling the run (like we've done quite well) we need to be disrupting their pass game.
Execute a near-flawless game and then we'll be ready to adjust our strategy against ND.
