Georgia could run over Notre Dame if numbers don't lie
Georgia coach Kirby Smart isn't reading into Notre Dame's atrocious run defense statistics, but Irish coach Brian Kelly knows the Bulldogs have an explosive backfield

Well.....Coaches have to say the things they say...but in all honesty......Dame is out matched at every position. If the Dawgs don't win this game by at least 3 TDs then we have serious problems
I've always said stats are for losers. Comparing statistics is interesting but doesn't tell near the whole story. Quality of opponents, team dynamics, effort, and motivation can tell just as much. Any team can beat any other team on a given day. The Dawgs were a better team on paper than Texas in the Sugar Bowl, but we got whipped. We should have won that game. Embarassing. Texas wanted it more.
Our OL must consistently play better than they have the first few games in order to beat tougher teams.
This year we MUST finish the drill.
A couple of turnovers and this game can go from a blow out to a nail biter in the fourth quarter. Ball security and Fromm putting the ball where only his receiver can make the play will be the keys to a comfortable victory.
Notre Dame is very thin and inexperienced at the linebacker positions coming into Sanford Stadium. Sweeps and rolls will likely prove to be very productive for our backs. They are at least seven deep with upperclassman on the D-line. I'd love to see our O-line assert their will! If not now, when? This seriously needs to be a break-out game because we like every other team will only see incremental improvements over the course of this or any season.
The only thing I want to see from this coaching staff this season is for them to stick to plays that works and stay with the players that are most affected. I keep thinking about that game against bama in 2017 when Sony was having a superb game but Chubb wasn't but they kept feeding him the football anyway. The question left in my head is; what would have been the outcome of that game had Sony gotten most of those carries when Chubb was having an off day? Chubb was 18 for 25 and Sony was 14 for 98 in that game.
This was a major headscratcher...how many times did they keep running Chubb up the middle to get stopped???
It blew my mind.
I agree with you...when something works, stick to it! When it doesn't ...throw it out!
How many times did we do the same thing over and over in short yardage situations. I really hope Chaney took that playbook with him.
We could stop them and they could stop us. We have to play at our best. Period. I hate reading things like this because as your confidence grows, often your performance drops.
This is a ball control game. Move the chains. Last week a number of times UGA had third and short and Fromm decided to air it out only to have to punt. Now I realize it was an inferior opponent and the purpose was to test the long ball and develop timing, but don't give the ball back when you don't have to. A few toss sweeps and bootlegs would would be nice too. I'm excited about the young guys both for now and in the future, but for this game, I hope they can hold on to the ball. Turnovers could kill us.
" Last week a number of times UGA had third and short and Fromm decided to air it out only to have to punt"
Well UGA only punted once in the first half and Fromm didn't play in the 2nd half. I guess your understanding of what "a number of times" means differs from mine.
Sony was hurt
Classof98 By "number of times" I meant two, and both involved Matt Landers. Both in the first half. 3rd and 3 and Jake throws a bomb which Landers tries to catch with one hand. Punt. Next time, 3rd and 6 and again Fromm throws a long pass over the head of Landers. This time at least a field goal. I get was he was trying to do in a game like that, but against a team like ND, that's not gonna work.
Rat poison! Go Dawgs!
Wow, doesn't sound like you've done anything competitive. Just the opposite happens, football, golf, dating, confidence +ability = performance.
Third and short passes last week was to give ND something to think about. I suspect the first several times we have that situation, we'll run it and we'll make it most, if not all, the time. When they cheat to protect against the run, bombs away.
