I looked at them. It's a very good tv but at $2400'00 it's apples to oranges to say the least. When I went to Best Buy to see them displayed I talked to a guy who was buying a $3000.00 Sony who felt compelled to tell me about his son's love of Europe, etc, etc, let's not do that.
I own this own. Was $800 or $900, I can't remember, from Costco. I like Costco because they an extra year to the warranty too
A great TV for sure, I almost went that way. The 558-G1 has very similar hardware. It's specs would be very close to the P series.
Never been
I have my tv above the fireplace, which is the worst place but only option in my living room, so I went with an adjustable wall mount. I love that mount. I have this one and I can't recommend it enough.
Sorry, I really shouldn't have added that, plus there's nothing wrong with traveling or drinking wine, I enjoy both. It's just that it became obvious this guy was being an ass.
I ended up using a low standing dresser that has a modern look. I had it stored in the building I remodeled for the rec-room so I took off the mirror, it's now a fine tv stand. Plus I need the storage.
For some reason my response hasn't posted so I'll resubmit and hope I don't end up duplicating. Sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned the guy at Best Buy, I was out of bounds. I like traveling and the occasional glass of wine by the way. It just became obvious this guy was being a dic.
My 55" Samsung has an issue with a halo which is and on going problem with the led's coming unglued. Cost more to fix so I am switching to Vizio. Had all Samsung up to this point.
I wonder what motivated his behavior.
Anyone else a little weirded out by the ultra high def picture? 1080 was about perfect. This new stuff just looks too realistic.
some of that is probably your settings. soap opera effect some call it. look up your tv on rtings.com and tweak the settings and you will probably see some improvement
Insecurity is my guess.
UHD can cause eye strain for a short adjustment period. Calibrating the picture settings is critical. Out of the box this M558-G1's color was too saturated and the lines were too defined. The recommended settings made it softer and more natural looking. To me there's no comparison, if you get everything to your taste UHD is superior.
