The coaches will be logging in the miles this weekend.
Curious to hear who all is getting a coaches visit this weekend.
Per TOS:
Burch, Ringo, Smith, Kimber, have been seen and can not be seen again until late Nov.
T. Ratledge, Z. Walker, D Manning, X Henderson, N. Sewell, Eric Reed, K Milton, CJ Stroud
This is awesome to see. One that pops out to me Lanning going to see Manning. Also love to see Dell going to see Milton. Even though he’s probably going to break the news since he’s now a 4* /s
I'd be curious to know how you'd rank the importance of those visits based on where we stand right now with these guys, position of need, etc.
@SoFL_Dawg , are we actively looking for a second QB? I could have missed it, but can’t recall much chatter about Stroud in the past.
Also, have we just settled on Milton as our one and only RB? Thanks
The one that sticks out to me is Coley visiting CJ Stroud. I would think our QB depth chart is appealing, but I think the CBs are 100% Ohio State.
The one that sticks out to me is Dell not going to see a second RB. Maybe too many irons in the fire and he doesn't want to alienate anyone but giving away his pecking order?
Saw Manning has an official set for the last week of recruiting in December. Would love to pull this guy in.
Yes, actively looking at a second QB. Current indicators are that Stroud is OSU bound. Fields will leave after 3 and the WR pipeline is the strongest in the country. If we do get in here, not likely we’d have Beck and Stroud in same class. Expect a grad transfer should Fromm declare early.
Regarding second RB, I’m starting to lean that I was premature in saying Evans won’t be in class. I posted before that a reliable source doesn’t think he will, but my primary source still believes we’re pretty deep here. We continue to recruit him and Chaney as priorities. I’m back on the fence with Evans; we still haven’t gone all in on Chaney either and that’s very telling regarding Evans imo.
The order I think right now is:
@SoFL_Dawg what would you put the % on of us landing 1 of Evans/Chaney/Nobody?
Basically I see that you listed Edwards and Smith, but I’m just wondering given the previously mentioned scholarship limitations, would staff really take a Edwards or Smith and tell another top 100 player at a different position no?
Sevaughn Clark seems to be a guy we could rely on if we only carried 4 scholarship RBs into next year and there were injuries. Seemed very telling that he got some carries as a true freshman walk on in the second or third game of the season.
Also the ability of Cook/Wren/Kearis Jackson and others in the slot back game would seem to ease the work load as well if there were injuries.
Does this mean in order to get Stroud, Beck would have to be processed?
Is Gregory Spann a possible QB2 for the 2020 class?
