Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

2 different classes.
Gurley and Marshall
Chubb and Sony
Well Beal leaving will open up a scholly
Hasnt left just yet
My guess is Edwards may be perceived as a better "yards after contact" back in the mold of CE Hilaire. This type of back can be as effective or better in our system than a smaller speed back (Cook). Not necessarily a threat to score from anywhere but demoralizing to a defense when they can't get off the field in the fourth quarter.
Kirby won’t let players come back when they enter the portal
Let's just be clear. It will open up a scholarship in terms of being able to maybe get to the 23 maximum initials which will require the following:
There are currently 83 scholarship players of which 16 were Seniors. With Rochester seemingly returning that means there could be as many as 68 players returning (83-15) leaving 17 spots available within the 85 maximum. Therefore there will need to be a total of at least 6 others leave through early entry into the draft and/or transfer out in order to meet the 23 level. There may be other reductions needed to allow for Zirkel if he is BS and Joseph if he were to sign plus any Grad or other transfers in who would count against the 2021 class.
Therefore although Beal would help get to the 23 (or less) his decision does not allow that number to increase to 24 or more.
I watched Dajuan Edwards play against Parkview and last year in playoffs as well. He has a lot of wiggle in his game and can make guys miss. Good jump cut. Good catcher of the ball.
The film doesn’t show a 4.81 player.
Please provide proof of this
I've never heard of that rule, but I'd be very surprised if there weren't multiple conversations that occur prior to a recruit entering the portal. My (very uninformed) guess is that it isn't so much he "won't let players come back when they enter the portal." Rather, it's more the fact that they mutually determined it would be better for the player to enter and aren't going to change their mind after the fact.
Where will he go this weekend?????
Pretty sure this isn’t true. He openly said Fields could return after entering the portal
More like... The portal won't let Kirby have the players back. For now we just have to trust the portal and hope we will benefit from it again next year like we did this year, to some degree(cager, wolf)
Couple of things I want to bring up while being in lurk mode.
Whether you understand it or not, hate it or not, Dell McGee was just never that high on Tank Bigsby. He likes his game, clearly never loved his game. He saw Tank in the same mold as Milton and loved Miltons game as his #1 choice.
There have been 1000 posts on Evans this cycle. If you can’t understand why Dell went all in on Evans its because you dont want to understand. Kirby pulled the plug on Evans. Dell still wanted him, bossman said no.
Daijun Edwards has always been a Dell favorite in state. Whether you understand that or not, it is what it is. Ive never seen the kid in person, but that 4.81 we’re being critical about, his tape plays faster than that. There are some challenges with this one but he is a name to watch after ESD.
Gibbs-copy and paste the exact same message above for Tank here. They like him, dont love his game.
At some point, accept this stuff for what it is. Staff makes the decisions and fill their roster based on what they feel is best. Slow plays happen every year since the 17 class. They will continue to happen.
Fair enough, just gotta trust the process
