- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

@SoFL_Dawg Forgive me if I got the players mixed up, but wasnt Bresee one of the kids you had "a story to tell" on once everything was said and done?
Possibly but I think it’s been brought to the board previously. In addition to winning championships, NFL development at his position, having his GF around was an added benefit.
She applied and wasn’t admitted acceptance to UGA. She applied and was granted acceptance at CU. Sometimes the little things can be a deciding factor if a croot considers schools even.
Bresee and Carter are what championship dreams are made of. I still don’t think we have a championship DL yet.
Even if we avoid some attrition there this year?
We still can’t rush with 4. So no, I don’t think we’re there yet. If we can rush with 4 it makes the defense so versatile. Walker and Carter will help with that but having 3+ guys who can do it (at different positions across the front) seems to be the formula for success.
the barn this year, cu last, osu this year...consistently get there with 4. I think that’s why au played so well against LSU in comparison to us this year, despite us being a better team than them.
We have to continue to recruit the position at an elite level.
Man.....I honestly hope that's not the case. Just because I post a lot doesn't mean I carry any more weight than anyone else.
I just disagreed with a post that I think @SquillDawg did a good job of defending.
I'll easily admit, as I've done often, that I was wrong...I just thought it was a little odd to criticize the kid the day after he picked a different school....
For what it's worth.....I tend to agree with your Brenton Cox comparison......but I was still hoping the kid chose us.
Very much agree with this
Great post. I'm holding out hope that the elite pass rushers we have recruited the past two cycles finally get to that place in their development.
Regarding OL, in an effort to alleviate angst on SVPG and Jones.
Staff is preparing to lose up to 4 more OL. Potential departures include NFL, Med DQ, and a portal casualty. That’s 6 OL down year over year. We added 6 OL.
Hopefully that helps framework the decision.
We can take this to another thread but we need to let them actually rush the passer, assuming you’re talking about the OLB group. Not sure we did a good job of that this year.
I agree with this.....but I'll add that Saban and Kirby's defense is a little different in that it works best when they get pressure from up the middle....0tech to the 4i tech.
Obviously everyone wants pressure up the middle because QBs hate it....but a defense that relies so heavily on gap integrity and staying in lanes it's especially important.....having consistent pressure up the middle allows edge guys to stay disciplined and have sacks come to them.....so to speak.
Kirby wants havoc as much as any coach.....just not at the expense of a blown assignment.
That said.....I still agree with your point on getting pressure with just 4.
In the past Alabama has had the guys that could apply the pressure up the middle.
Anyone else think Mullen can't croot because he has an overall chitty, petty personality and nonexistent motivational style? I can't see kids getting fired up to play for a frustrated cuckold Igor or a bumbling cousin eddie or any of the other memes that ring true about him. Our coach has a bowl cut & a visor but he's still authentic, personable and his motivational style is solid. Mullen's physical deformities are no excuse for his chitty personality and croots see through it
I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at a post on here.
Yep. That’s why Bryan Bresee was such a critical target. Walker and Carter will be impactful inside. We’re hopeful others that came in with these guys also make their own stamp.
We need a guy that can ruin a game. Not to belabor a point but Dexter with this class as well would’ve been huge for us.
Or because they're put off at having to kiss his wife. And only half kidding here
