Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

When u watch his o line miss every block the highlights start to stand out a little more. Dudes gonna be a baller
I think I'm getting the hang of it. Takes practice I guess
I think you’re right
That’s ridiculous. Fields wasn’t TOO highly regarded.
So_Flo says foe show
Umm, we had all kinds of motion almost every play. We definitely tried swing routes and bubble screens to our detriment, although most of the swing routes were more to Cook in an h-back/slot kind of position. We tried to run more traditional screens too, but our OL, frankly, seemed really bad at it.
I dont know a ton about X's and O's of football but wouldn't the lack of over the middle throws affect the run game as it frees up middle line backers to key in on the run more. Back in 2017 we threw a ton of short quick slants etc and feel like that helped create space at the line of scrimmage. Something we did none of this year. My opinion on another reason run game wasn't as good. Could be completely wrong. Question... What does a deep sideline pass do to open up the run? Proving I don't know anything about x and o but just curious so I can understand more
I don’t think Beck struggles with confidence. I think he’s comfortable with who he is and what he does well. Everyone was so excited about Stroud potentially coming. Beck didn’t flinch in that pursuit and welcomed the competition. Both late bloomers, but one plays football in the south, 8A ball; Beck understood how much of a religion it is. Wouldn’t have been surprised to see Stroud gone after 21. I do think that was a factor in his choice, easier path at OSU.
I also think since 2017, Fromm’s confidence has been up and down. Very confident when no expectations. Not confident in 2018 until he was chosen to finish the season and no more QB shuffle. Didn’t exude confidence in 2019, which has been well documented this year. The general can never flinch, or the troops will too.
Sometimes having the kid that doesn’t know any better who just wants to play ball, is more impactful than the vet who understands the full weight of expectations. That burden is too heavy for some.
Beck is probably the best system for this year of all the QBs that we’re highly regarded. I’m excited to see both him and Mathis in the spring.
We've got 9 early enrollees so far. 5 on offense and 4 on defense. Does anybody know off the top of their head if Ringo, Washington or Evans are early enrollees?
Only Evans I believe
Milton has a faster 100m time than Zach Evans which tells me Milton can hit the homerun just like Evans can. This tandem will be fun to watch for 3 years along with Zeus, cook and McIntosh next year. I just can’t see any redshirts in that rb room.
one could draw from those comments that Kirby & Co had to rig the system last year to keep Fromm’s confidence up.
With these 2020 wrs coming in and returning 2019 wrs entice Fromm to return?
I'm hoping it comes back with a chip on his shoulder
Rumors elsewhere in the thread suggest he is leaning towards staying, but won’t make any official statements one way or another till after the bowl game. I feel like he’d be making a mistake to leave after the year he’s had, but it’s possible if he left our offense might be able to click better under another QB, like Mathis, Beck, Bennett, or a possible transfer. We’ll have to wait and see...
Bringing the thread back around, and building off @CZCashvilleDawg's post from Dec. 21.
22(EDIT: 23).Is all of that correct? Are there any other names that should be added to the list. Any other info we should keep in mind as the recruiting season winds down?

You’ve left off the commitment of SVP also planning to sign Feb. 5th.
That would make it 23 which has been the running target that was expected all year.
You also left off that Zirkel is believed to be a blue shirt so his scholarship will not be counted towards 2020
