Speaking of coaching. I saw Tray Scott is being talked about in regards to Sam Pittman hiring a DL coach. If that happens, do we go after Tosh Lupoi? I only ask because that effects 2020 recruiting (Jackson) and the future of recruiting in the defensive trenches. I know we’re aiming to get to where Clemson is when it comes to recruiting DL
Great breakdown.
Time to get back on topic here,
Whats everyones odds (in addition to Ringo being a Dawg) that we bring in a 4th DB/S in this class ?
Even more so, how surprised would you be if the class finished with Kimber,Burns,Ringo and Manning ?
☕️?
odds for Ringo? 100%
Knowing Kirby, wouldn’t be surprised if we go Manning, Washington, Ringo, Evans, Jackson to finish our class. I’d understand if we didn’t get an ILB even if Rice does leave. We’re simply just too stacked there and will refill in ‘21
Question was not odds we get Ringo but a 4th in addition to him. Edited now
That would give this class a score 320.56, would be great!!!
Too soon to know, I haven’t heard anything either way. Scott leaving or Tosh coming. If there was a vacancy, I’d imagine he’s be on a short list with his recruiting abilities.
My apologies. Vegas Odds? Lol

Good question.....and you are correct that some of our elite players are "handcuffed" to a certain degree in the pass rush.
I'll base this answer off of what I know about the fundamental rules of the Belichick/Saban/Kirby defense.
The number one rule is to always stop the run and everything across the middle by funneling everything to the outside.
But obviously creating a pass rush and havoc is important. So there are some important things to consider....
1. Type of QB team is playing. A more DT QB requires a more discipline pass rush....especially if the QB is a better runner than passer. A spy helps.....but gap and lane integrity are a must. Obviously a pure pocket passer will allow a more relentless pass rush.
2. Talent at CB......the more elite corners allow a team to have a more disciplined pass rush. Obviously a pass rush is still very important regardless of CB talent....but a team doesn't have to take unnecessary risks. Baylor has a great pass rush.....but they take unnecessary risks to generate the rush because they are weaker at CB.
3. Down/distance/situation will dictate a lot. Certain situations require more risk. The risk comes in different forms.....it could come from a team using multiple stunts or blitzes or it could come from how an individual player generates a pass rush and the moves he uses. A pass rusher with one responsibility......sack QB.....will rush differently than a pass rusher with gap responsibility or containment responsibility.
Georgia is talented enough to not take unnecessary risks......although we probably should have in SECCG. A defense like Baylor has to take risks.
All that said.....I fully expect Georgia to cause more havoc in 2020 because :
DL will be stronger, more mature and more skilled at rushing the passer while still playing lanes and gaps.....
And I fully expect Georgia's DBs to be better (even without Reed) because the players covering the crossing routes and middle of the field will be better and more experienced......causing QBs to hold onto ball longer.

I’m ready to see a TNT package at backer for havoc. Trouble -Nolan/Nakobe-Trez.
20%. Depends on eligible players leaving. I’d be very shocked if we land Manning.
With this type of height at the TE position there's no excuse for UGA not to significantly increase it's TD production inside the Red Zone in 2020!
I’m not far off with 33%. Gotta speak it into existence. Even if he’s already signed 🙃
I wouldn’t be disappointed if he chose Oregon. Great talent, but I definitely would get if it was an either/or. Ringo is clearly the #1 target and I would personally be more disappointed if roles were reversed. But I think manning will do great things.
I’d be shocked if we got Manning, but giddy! From what I’ve read, it seems like Ringo and Manning were gonna go in opposite places between us and Oregon. I wouldn’t count us out for Manning because of our staff, so I’d give us a 33.33 percent chance.
I like your enthusiasm for Beck, but there are too many factors at play to make any accurate predictions about his future at UGA. Those factors include Fromm's return in 2020, the progression of Mathis, potential Portal pickup and 2021 recruit at that position.
