Are you speculating or do you know something (hearing whispers)?? BTW, agree 100% with your post
Once again Burrow, Hurts, Fields got beat out by outstanding QBs. None of this year’s transfers are coming from that situation. Murray and Mayfield- you have a point and I will throw in Russell Wilson. So, 3 successful transfer QBs in how many transfer situations. UGA my strike gold. But odds are not in our favor.
My post did come off as me calling the QBs garbage which was not my intent. Not saying they are garbage as players but not QBs with super successful track records.
My point is the thought of “just grab a transfer QB and we are good” is a dumb take. A lot of people assume that Joe Burrow is out there for us to pluck up. It is the same as those who say “we need to bring in a passing game coordinator because it worked for LSU” and really think that will solve all of our issues on offense
So, let’s show your wisdom. Go on record on which transfer you say is on the level of those QBs that you mentioned and we can revisit this next year?
Ok. Fair enough. Unlike last year.....I think the players that declared this year are probably making wise decisions. We'll know soon enough.
Newman was the second highest graded QB on *deep throws* this past year behind...drumroll...Joe Burrow. He can also run reasonably well.
*Edited for clarity. Got busy at work and pushed "enter" before I was done thinking.
Have no idea. Not trying to start anything. Georgia has a loaded roster.....some good players are probably getting passed up.
Awesome. Glad to hear that. I had written a response but deleted it because I am going down a negative road due to other fans’ opinions. I don’t want to be negative about a kid I may be routing for next year. Let’s hope whoever we bring in plays well.
Id probably edit that bombshell portion, but i agree with the rest you are saying
@texdawg is right.
This past season had one of the best defenses. There will only be a better defense on the field next season (Cine will bring more talent than JR but doesnt have the experience).
There was non stop complaints about the offense. Mays would've been a starter somewhere on the line true. But you're allowing at minimum 6 guys work with CML to find his optimal OTs. Not to mention a wonderful class signing to add even more talent.
Im probably one of the few who didnt think Fromm could "lead" the offense. But he's d@mn good and I will never take that away from him. I was a Eason guy. He took risk and had a arm and mindset to make every throw (Same with Fields just wasnt there mentally). With Coley also staying and CML maybe adding to the run game and the next coach hire could be exciting for the offense. Why not start anew. I dont think Fromm was built for Coley's offense.
The offense will be new guys. OL is deep and with a new coach all postions will be open. WR room is open and talented with only 3 projects left. TE room will be new guys on the field probably less blocking. QB will be open. RB doesnt have the 3 guys yet in rotation.
Its gonna be exciting next year because we dont know, wont know after Spring Game, and for sure wont know til after Bama. This will be a year of patience hope you guys can show it
I have been nervous to post on this thread because it does not normally fit my style of one liners and cutdowns, but ...
I agree with @texdawg on this. Only the fact that my first reaction is not to panic. I have been conditioned over 20 years to accept things for what they are, and move on.
Does Reese want to play? Does Jake want to make millions? Does Mays wanna play with baby brother at his legacy school? Who am I to behoove them of that?
Next Dawg up.
I literally had my starting striker on my soccer team blow out his ACL yesterday. Senior, team captain, great kid. Senior year gone. The Man in me feels bad for the kid...lost his senior year, lost his ability to finish what he started, etc etc.
But the Coach in me.... starts looking for a new striker. That's what coaches do.
I trust the staff. They knew a week ago Jake was leaving, and might have known Mays was gone. I think Reese decided mid-year, TBH.
But, we got Rice and Ritchie back. Be thankful. We are now on the Alabama level of 20% of our roster a year turns over. Are there surprises?? Yes... but next Dawg up.
We shouldn't have any more questions on how we will sign 25 this cycle
Any Ringo updates...........the simple times🤨
Just been slotted at QB...
Hopefully. I know they said he was staying but it was also speculation that he may enter the portal and it was said that LSU and us were some options he would consider. Can’t wait to see what see happens.
Thank you for that. Can draw some comfort in your perspective. It remains that next year with a different QB will likely be [much] harder than it would have been with Jake. For that, I am concerned. Big picture, though, yeah, it will be exciting and a lot to look forward to.
Yep. That is what I was trying to do.
