Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Answer to 32-3 questions a few pages back
CONFERENCE OFFICE: The conference office is responsible for validating NLIs to ensure its member institutions administer the NLI according to the NLI provisions and related guidelines. An NLI that has been signed and returned to the institution in accordance with the NLI provisions remains valid until it is declared invalid by the conference office. The conference office must act on the uploaded NLI in the NLI portal in a timely manner to ensure visibility and to maintain accurate NLI records.
14-DAY DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION TO CONFERENCE OFFICE: The 14-day submission deadline is 14 days from the final signature on the NLI. This is the signature date of the prospective student-athlete or parent/legal guardian. An NLI that is not uploaded within the required 14 days after the final signature is considered valid through the 14th day. If the institution uploads the NLI to the conference office after the 14-day deadline; the conference office will declare the NLI invalid.
INVALID NLI: The signing institution must notify a prospective student-athlete in writing that his or her NLI is not valid within five business days from when the institution is made aware of the status of the NLI. The institution must copy its conference NLI administrator on any such notification sent to a prospective student-athlete. The prospective student-athlete is permitted to sign another NLI during the same signing period or during another signing period for the conference office to validate.
Evans can sign with anyone if it wasn't uploaded 14 days after it was signed. (Jan 1-3 based on last signed)
Thanks. Do we know whether it was uploaded or just allowed to expire. I know the speculation/assumption was that it was uploaded but do we know that?
Looks like Darnell Washington lost his 5th star also. These updates rankings are odd
So Milton is the 88th best player and Gibbs is the 44th?
Let's play a game of "downgrade Georgia recruits". Ready? Here we go.
Darnell Washington down 18 spots.
Arian Smith down 14 spots.
Jermaine Burton? Down 33 freaking spots.
Mekhail Sherman down... what's this? Surely a typo. 65 spots? How?
Milton and Rosemy both down 12 spots.
Well hey, at least SVPG went up from 250 to 74.
How is it possible that a quarter of our class just happened to tank in the final rankings?
Hate to be one of those guys but I do agree. All dawg commits went down in the rankings drastically. Also noticed the Bama Bump
Thank you @Denmen185. Your efforts to help keep us all informed on this forum are greatly appreciated. So, am I correct in interpreting this to say that Zach Evans can still sign a NLI with UGA, IF his original NLI was NOT uploaded to the conference before the end of the 14 day period after it was originally signed?
edit: Once again my hunt and peck typing skills are totally outclassed by @pocoyo. Sorry for my redundancy.
We won't know until Feb 5th. If he signs somewhere it will mean that it was not. It's possible that all the All Star games commits asked to delay so that it was less likely to be known ahead of time.
Interesting, Thanks
Idk how anyone can watch Gibbs and confidently say he is a top 50 player.
They know we take over the top spot and wanted to fudge the numbers to make it more interesting at the end given alabama is already at 26 commits.
Milton is miles ahead of Gibbs. That is unconscionable.
But but but he has yards against teams with sub par athletes
Gibbs had 242 total offensive yards against the 6a champion. It is not inconceivable for someone to think he’ll be better than Milton.
Beck is barely rated higher than D'wan Mathis now. Tough year.
Decided to do a tally, turns out UGA players cumulatively went up 14 spots in the Top247 rankings. That SVP bump was pretty big. I only counted currently committed/signed UGA players through the first 247 players.
ETA:
Bama +92
UGA +14
Clemson -115
Look at that average kids...best there is. Poor Bama has to have a 5 player head start for that extra point lol.
It is to me...didn’t know that stats outweighed tape, but that’s the industry for you. Elevate guys who will drive clicks In the end. You have to clearly be heads and shoulders above the competition to hold on to your ranking while still participating in all events sponsored by the industry. See Bresee, clearly the best player in the country. Gibbs looked very avg among the elite players at AA...so did Tank for that matter.
One would be hard pressed to find any coach that would want Gibbs over Milton given the two choices.
For the record, I like Milton more and I was more so responding to those who point to Gibbs’ perceived lack of competition. Simmons and other 247 guys were at the practices and saw a hell of a lot more than any of us could. So I don’t see how you can definitively say that Gibbs looked average.
Also, you have absolutely no way to prove your last statement. It’s an appeal to authority. Not too different to the various fallacies you rightfully call out the various trolls on this board for.
I think the margin between 44th and 88th best prospect is very small and it’s a bit ludicrous to say that one top prospect will 100% (barring injury) be better than another. Thus, I do not believe we should negate these opinions and blindly paint them as being the result of ulterior motives.
It’s clear to me who the better back is. It’s clear to me why Gibbs was ranked as highly as he was, late in the cycle. I also watched the AA practice and game, everything that was televised. I’ve seen the highlight tapes. I know the difference of running through holes cars fit through and having to make guys miss in the backfield. It’s clear why Dell wasn’t/isn’t interested, also clear why every school wanted Milton.
