They said parenting was hard
Quick back story... my boy (2 yrs old) loves riding in my old 78 ford truck to take trash to the dump. Tracy Lawrence, Alan Jackson, John Anderson etc is all he wants to hear. Tonight he wouldn’t go to sleep so I turned on ole Tracy Lawrence greatest hits in his room. My boy sang himself to sleep. Couldn’t really understand his words, but he knew the songs and sang them somewhat on beat.
raising the kid right and was a proud dad.

Sounds like a great kid. But, before you know it, he will be driving a truck and your hair will turn gray.
For sure... never understood the saying times fly bye until having kids.
There was nothing but Tracy Lawerence and Keith Whitley on when I was riding around with my dad. Love those memories.
Had ole Keith on back in the day when I took a chick out for a date. Worked like a charm.
little disappointed Travis Tritt hasn't been mentioned yet tbh
Don’t be disappointed kasey bro. Travis makes his runs on the ole music maker often.
Guess what....your boy will always love country music......but eventually it will be his kind of country music.
But I'm sorry to say.....once he's in the world......I'm afraid he'll come home listening to Drake or other c.r.a p like that. The world is a powerful place.
But he'll still be a good boy. And you'll find yourself singing along to the same old c.r.a.p.
By the way....when my son was 2.....his favorite song was Big Green Tractor.
This is one of the best things about the forum. I imagine JRT and I have little in common. I'm older, my kids are grown, I'm divorced, I've never been a country music fan, and I don't know much about trucks or motorcycles. I suppose a love of UGA football may be our only common bond.
But JRT is one of my favorite posters. And this thread is a good reminder of that.
Tex bro... let a guy enjoy his night... just messing around and I know. I went my way when I was younger. It is what it is and it happens. Crazy how my current favorite moments are riding around with my son in my grandfathers old truck listening to old country songs (and watching UGA football games together). It all comes full circle
Thanks my bro and I appreciate you as well!
Agree. @JRT812 posts pretty good stuff.
And I'm a softie for father/son stories. And father/daughter stories
Thanks for the kind words! Don’t even get me started on my girl. She is something else
Dude......enjoy them. That is awesome stuff. And your son is going to love you forever because of the investment you are giving him now.
It sounds trivial......but riding around in old trucks and listening to country music is about the most important thing you can do with a 2 year old boy.
And in a few years......playing catch in the front yard will be.
Dang.....hard to keep from tearing up talking about this stuff.
It’s been said ...sometimes music can reach deeper into the soul than spoken words ever will ....
thats why I love country music .... GoYouCountryMusicLovinDawgs ....Dads...Sons and Daughters !
I hear ya my man... it gets the feels going for me thinking about days with my dad and granddad. Good stuff and good days.
