Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

They just suspended La Liga for two weeks after Real Madrid was quarantined.
Think about how many people could have come into contact with a single NBA player. Opposing players, teammates, officials, fans, hotel employees, family members, arena workers, chefs, airline attendants, etc.
That's hundreds of people, not counting fans. Any of those hundreds of people could then infect their circle of relationships, and transmission just ramps up from there. This is why I don't understand the dismissal of the virus in the States; yeah, there aren't a ton of cases on March 12, 2020, but other countries are showing increased by the hundreds or thousands one week to the next.
If **** really does hit the fan it will be interesting to see how the triage goes. Americans have had the luxury of being heavily compassionate. So much so that we have major TV ads for stray animals and their care. And we've been like this for years. What will happen when true triage kicks in and some are told "sorry, we just can't treat you".? We are an entitled society. I fear how some will react.
By the way, I'm not knocking people that want to shelter animals. I'm just stating it as an example of how good things have been for us for a long time. I'm not exactly the tin foil hat type, but I don't blame those that have shelters stocked with food and supplies. Luck favors the prepared.
No one takes you serious when you speak out of both sides of your mouth.”It has nothing to do with politics”....”elect a clown...”
“Fox News is the only fake news” - (They are a part of it).
Give me a break with this pathetic, tired schtick.
The best liars mix the truth with lies. And there is no question this has been going on with our media for decades. The media traded their credibility for profit. Now many do not trust them and are skeptical of everything they say. Even in a pandemic. You reap what you sow.
Honest question - who do you trust to get your information? Do you watch any of the national media shows on any channel?
I watch a little, I just am extremely cynical about what I hear lol. The last few years have really opened my eyes at how manipulative they can be. I tend use multiple places I guess and know that things are rarely half as good or bad as they say.
Have you actually watched any news sources the last couple of years? There is good reason to remain skeptical.
As long as we can all agree that most mainstream news organizations are motivated by money and play to specific audiences, sure.
I tend to absorb most of my information online, usually through CNN or New York Times, etc. With the pandemic, I'm just looking for facts, numbers, information... It doesn't feel like there's political bias to a story about how many people got infected in Italy in the last week, for example.
Pathetic sheeple. You actually believe Italy exists? Media brainwashing complete
Absolutely nobody freaked out when the H1N1 Swine Flu pandemic (yes, it was declared a pandemic) swept through the world in 2009 infecting about 1 billion people, killing over 12,000 Americans in one year and estimates say around 200,000 (some sources say around 500,000) were killed worldwide. Some of the UGA football team had it that year. I remember Joe Cox had "flu like symptoms" and lost about 15 lbs right before the Oki St game (some blame that loss on the team being ill). You say downplaying, I say remaining reasonable and calm.
Terrible take. God gave you free will, the ability to reason, and to think logically. Use that gift.
I just saw a stat that said 0.005% of China's population contracted the virus. That's about 1 in 20,000. And that's a petri dish of a country. So if that's accurate, we should be ok.
So what are you suggesting we all do? Are we all supposed to just stay home till this blows over? It's not like we are going around coughing on people. I think we are all taking reasonable precautions. What should we be doing that we aren't doing right now?
What we've got here is a failure to communicate.
I believe your lack of panic is making some think you are going to go around and lick all the door knobs.
Did you see the drastic measures they took to keep it that way? They locked down Hubei. No one could leave their homes, and officials went door to door testing people and isolating the infected in quarantine camps.
It's like if I don't completely agree with their side then I am morally reprehensible. Where have we seen this before...
Nah, he said nothing should change. Keep having mass gatherings of people and that this wasn't a big deal.
Just take the L and start listening to public health experts. You have no idea what you are talking about.
Again, what are you suggesting that us skeptics do differently? You keep criticizing anyone who disagrees with you...so explain what I should be doing differently.
Maybe don't go to gatherings of 20,000+ people and then boast about it?
And stop acting like a victim. Nobody is attacking you or calling you reprehensible, but when you start talking about government-forced absenteeism and downplaying the virus as a media-induced attempt to make people panic, you're gonna get some pushback.
