It's a Tycho morning for me.
No, but I'll check them out now. Thanks for the tip. I'm always on the lookout for musical artists.
@Bulldawg1982 The first selection was a long playlist of various artists that I'm familiar with, as I moved down the Spotify page I came across DMT the self titled album from 2005. I'm listening to the first some song called DMT Express. I like so far.
Lol, I was actually talking about the psychedelic drug "DMT". I gotta "friend" that loves listening to this kind of music when he's tripping on hallucinogenics. It's the quickest way to meet the wood elves.
Not familiar with the DMT trip... must have come after my time. Sounds like your "friend" is familiar with wood elves. Ah, Disney World in the comfort of one's own Barka Lounger!
I remember learning how to sing "in the round" when I was a kid. Great use of that technique in this song. Something joyful, almost magical about it.
Yowza
Have never seen Jason Isbell live, but I’ve enjoyed watching YouTube videos of some of his live shows. Great singer/songwriter, and he has a **** good band behind him. I’d seen people on here talking about him, but never listened to any of his music till a couple of months ago. Like his wife’s, Amanda Shires, music also. Great cover of Whipping Post.
That's a very good rendition of one my favorite Floyd tunes. I'm kicking back listening to Kalabi.
Cass, I have to say you have opened up a whole new world of music to me. I haven't quite warmed to it yet, but I am glad to discover it. Definitely an acquired taste, so keep on sharing and I'll keep on checkin' 'em out.
This is one of my favorite youtube performances. Kings of Leon burned bright for a brief moment but flew too close to the sun.
On this track, I love the bass loop, the mouth guitar, the drummer's personality, the keyboardist holding it all together, Caleb Followill's voice, and the hot chick(s) in the front row.
I use a recorder flute to call my dogs back in from my back 40. Works like a charm. I'm not one to holla at my dogs to come home.
Nice.
Yeah, I just discovered those guys last weekend. Jam band maximus but have some really cool stuff
Ha, that's funny.
Kinda the same thing with Mumford & Sons
If you're young and never heard of Joni Mitchell I invite you to explore her brilliance. Rick Beato last week released a new "What Makes This Song Great?" breakdown of Joni's phenomenal song entitled 'Amelia'. Rick gets a little emotional at the end, which is pretty cool.
Some outstanding Jazz musicians on this song.
Why Sting is uncopyable. Great video by Rick Beato.
@AnotherDawg - I'm a huge fan of Dzihan & Kamien. There's actually two versions of this tune, one with lyrics (Rap) and this instrumental. I really like the groove in this tune.
Emancipator is probably a bit more well known then some of the other stuff I post. This is off their new release called 'Mountain of Men'. Very good album to kick back to or listen while working.
This song helped me get through the toughest time in my life, a few years back.
Son Volt - Tear Stained Eye
@Casanova_Flatulence I finally got around to watching that Sting video you posted. Really great.
For the record, I loved The Police but I never quite warmed to Sting as a solo artist. However, I fully appreciate his musical genius, and I can listen to Beato all day. Thank you for posting the video.
And thanks for this thread, @Bulldawg1982.
