Arkansas is better than what most people believe.

Georgia obviously didn't play well in the first half.. but ended up having the largest margin of victory in the conference.

Arkansas has now lost 20 straight conference games.....but why is that? I'll argue that over the past 2 seasons......Arkansas may have been the worst coached team in the country.

I believe Pittman, Odom and Briles will correct that. Arkansas played us hard......and they may turn out to be better than we think.

Per 247 (if we believe the rankings)....Arkansas has the 26th most talented roster in the country. And that's out of 130 teams.

Bama beat the 47th best Roster

Florida beat the 30th best roster

TAMU beat the 55th best roster

Auburn beat the 27th best roster

Tenn beat the 21st best roster

And LSU lost to the 23rd best roster.

My point isn't to make Arkansas one of the best victories in Georgia history. Obviously Arkansas has much to overcome. But they are better than many think..... and Stetson didn't have success against an untalented team.

Arkansas has some really good players. And hopefully Coach Pittman can do more with them than the prior regime.

I have no idea what our offense will look like on Saturday.

That's because I have only seen one game.

After about Week 4 I think I will know what it will look like Week 5.

I am sorry. I am slow and unintelligent and cannot glean as much inside from one game as some of you can. I am amazed at your ability to decipher this. I wish I had the access to practice film, team meetings, position meetings, and future play calling that some do.

You guys live my best life, I guess...

We’ll see about Arky. In the meantime, let’s not become Gator fans. After they beat Miami last year (by 4 points), they claimed Miami was greatly improved and would prove to be a good team. Miami went on to lose to Duke, NOrth Carolina, Georgia Tech and mighty FIU.

when my son was really young.....he was really large. Very tall and very heavy.

He played soccer and when the coach passed out jerseys he was very apologetic and told my son he didn't have one that would fit him.

My son said that was ok because he didn't want to wear a gator shirt anyways.

The team was the gators......and I knew I had a smart kiddo.

Ok I’ll concede they’ve been poorly mismanaged. I think that’s a very true statement but we should have beaten them by 50.

For the MAJORITY of Kirby Smarts tenure it’s taken us awhile to get started and put teams away. Now this year is a little different and I think even when it’s not mentioned it should be a given that with COVID no spring and summer camps. The Newman deal etc that the offense is going to be a little behind the 8 ball. However for whatever reason we’re still starting slow. And this is only a one game sample size and it could be totally different Saturday but what else do we have to talk about, it’s this or who starts at QB vs AU.

I'm confident that Monken gets it worked out. I think personnel is going to make or break this year. I don’t think play calling will be an issue like it has been with previous OCs. I seen some good things on that front against Arkansas.

I have to say, I question the logic of some of you supposed Dawg fans. Do you watch the game believing they will win or at the very least hoping they will win? I doubt most fans on this forum are just blindly optimistic going into every game; and it’s easy to see that most are disappointed and anxious about last week’s performance. But this idea of assuming that the offense is so bad we might as well pack it up and prepare for a terrible season because the Dawgs might not be as good as we hoped, after one game, is such a loser mentality and, frankly, I question your loyalty to the team. Talent gets you half-way, battle-tested experience gets you the rest of the way. Against, Arkansas, the team had a LT, RT, at times C, a couple WRs, a TE, and a QB all getting first time SEC starts. It’s called perspective, folks. Lot of football to be played and this team isn’t anywhere close to peaking on either side of the ball and they won by 27 points.

How did you decide we should have won by 50 points? Given all the new players, first-time starters, lack of experience etc. that big of a prediction seems...well, pretty bold. When was the last time we won an SEC game by 50 points?

The talent disparity for one, and I know Arkansas has the 26th ranked team recruiting etc. However, we started slow again and we played undisciplined unfocused football until stet came in. I know it’s a wild year but my expectations are always high🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

This gave me an idea for a fun experiment. I don't normally try to predict games, but like everyone, have some expectations. I'm going to try to predict some things about each game based on all the knowledge up to that point. I'm thinking: points scored, points allowed, number of turnovers we have, number of turnovers we force, and maybe some yardages. By the end of the year, I can compare my expectations and the reality of what happened. Over the course of a full year, the weird bounces should average out and I will be able to find out how realistic my expectations are.

I welcome everyone to try this. It would certainly let us know by the end of the year who has unrealistically high expectations, unnecessarily low expectations, and who we should listen to more often. More importantly, every person who does this will undoubtedly gain more insight about themselves that they can use in the future to improve their mindset. Thoughts?
