Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I’ve got a 38 special, but my dad gave Techie Hubby a .22 Henry survival rifle that’s pretty fun to put together and shoot. Hubby just bought a Ruger Vaquero. I haven’t gotten to shoot it yet. Too busy taking care of the toddler.
I love Glock for the same reason—unattractive as h** ** but just work when you need them to. I have a Glock 20 10mm with flash light for home defense (comes with me on hikes as well). I carry a Glock 43x during the Summer (the full size grip is nice but has the shorter barrel for t-shirt conceal), and a Glock 19 in the winter. The 19 is my favorite and shoots like a dream.
Guys...if you find ammo BUY IT! I can't find anything here. Literally every gun shop, sports store and Walmart is totally sold out of handgun ammo.
And it's only going to get worse...
Got to be a bummer of a time to own a shooting range.
I agree, the G19 is my favorite to shoot.
I have the following, nothing to brag about but I like them and that's all that matters... Don't hate, I love 9mm's....
G17
G19
G43
G42 (Wifes)
S&W M&P Shield 9mm
Taurus PT111 (Truck Gun - Beater Gun) I don't care if it gets scratched.... It's a good shooting gun.
Bushmaster AR15 (this one was made back when Bushmaster had a good rep)
Yep...I haven't been to the range in a long time simply because I can't replenish ammo.
19x bedside
43x cc with shield arm S15 mag. 15 +1 . Works flawless.
Nice. I lucked up and found an AR yesterday that had just arrived bin store. Needless to say it didn't even hit the shelf. Before I walked out of the store, another customer offered me 150 more than I have for it. Best part of it is the wife was ok with it too.
So basically, we're gonna have a nation full of people who can't maintain proficiency with their weapons because they can't get ammo. And this makes us safer because ...?
Have an 870 tactical, but no handguns, have been reading this thread for insight on what to purchase. So thanks to all posting for sharing their knowledge and making this yet another incredibly valuable DN thread.
Being the aforementioned noob, what is behind the ammunition shortage? Supply chain/shutdown issues similar to those hitting other industries?
Supply chain and shutdown issues and people hoarding what is being shipped. Can order online in some cases depending on what you're looking for but you may be waiting longer than normal for delivery.
Added note to the previous post...if you are persistent enough, you can find what you're looking for. Might take a while but it's out there
Yep, just this morning I was at a friends farm just outside Moultrie. One of the local gun dealers was advertising ammo with a big sign down by the hwy. You can PM me if you'd like the info.
Just wait till they start serializing ammo. Each individual round will have to be accounted for. This is the **** people voted for.
With the new administration (maybe) coming in to power, I just want to go on record that I was taking all my guns in to sell them when a tragic boating accident caused them to be lost in the middle of lake Lanier.
Majority of practicing takes place outside of the range.
That's an incredible coincidence. Exact same thing happened to me.
That's what happens when you go boating Loaded.
For pistols, if you mean dry firing, reloads etc., that's true enough. If you mean shooting outside, that can be pretty hard to do in many areas.
