As I understand it, the SEC needs to have a "private non-public school" in it's family.
I think it has to do with privacy and business disclosure laws
If we did dump Vandy we would need to replace with another private school.
We would want one that was willing to invest in ALL their sports programs as well as scholastically.
Vandy has champions in other sports just not football.
They have been feeding at the SEC revenue trough all along.
Anyone know of any private non-public schools that might fit the bill?
I'm not saying your wrong but I just don't understand why that would be a stipulation. Who wrote that into the charter? It had to be something Vandy wanted included to keep themselves from being kicked out.
I doubt it because Vanderbilt is not nor will it ever get kicked out of the SEC. There is a much higher chance of it leaving on its own. UGA administration and fans may be mad at them now but I would wager the rest of the league has no problem with their ineptitude at football (and in fact, some count on it to get a win where they can).
I don't see them ever leaving on their own and giving up all the dollars they get from the SEC.
I know...yet that has a greater possibility of happening than what people are suggesting here.
We go to every UGA-Vandy game in Nashvegas as the tickets are easy to get (at face value directly from Vandy) and given the stadium size and lack of rowdiness it's the perfect venue to take the kids to a game. So that being said I am OK with them staying so I can essentially see a UGA home game in Nashville in a stadium about the size of the Braves stadium every other year.
I love Nashville. Round trip flights from Pensacola are like $100. Might have to start putting that game on the calendar.
We don't have to pay $500,000 - $1,500,000 to play a cupcake.
Go, Dawgs!
Barf. Give me a break. She made the freaking College Football HOF???
Don't think SHE made it. Her uniform is on display. Truth is, however one views it, it was historic. By definition.
what about all the other women who have scored multiple times at non - power 5 schools. I suspect they were much more effective kickers. Shame on the HOF.
She just might get a heisman vote!
Yeah. OK. But really, for me, just not that big a deal either way. Think it's a mountain out of mole hill thing.
Isn’t Notre Dame private? And it’s not in another conference nor in the current geographic footprint.
That ain't even the uniform she was wearing. Vandy was in black jerseys last week.
Another private school, you say? How about....
Miami.
ACC ?
Someone was saying there is some “pact” among sec teams to only have one team per state going forward for recruiting purposes. So that rules out pretty much everyone but North Carolina, Virginia/vtech, Oklahoma/okstate. If Clemson wanted in I think they’d tell scar too bad
I think SHE is now a member of the college football HOF. The HOF congratulated her specifically by name. She's in. Historic, sure. Significant, no.
