Over the weekend, video emerged of what is said to be Valdosta High School head coach Rush Propst making allegations that Georgia and other schools pay players. In the video clip, which can be heard here, Propst alleges that Georgia, along with Alabama, is paying players upwards of $90,000 to $100,000. Propst also

UGA should sue him for slander if he is unable to produce the evidence. Can an institution sue for slander????

It looks like it must really be Propst on the tapes, otherwise you would think he would've came forward saying it's not him.

I know Propst in now under an investigation himself. Was he just trying to act like everybody's doing what he is really doing?

It made perfect sense for Chubb to stay for his Senior year. He made the most of it and moved himself up in the NFL draft. I'm glad Chubb put that part of the fake news story to rest.

LOL, yeah, Georgia would risk losing millions by being caught by doing something so incredibly ****. I mean, just stop and think about that. Had players received that kind of cash, they had BETTER report it to the IRS or risk serious jail time and I'm sure that it'd get out being that it's a public institution.

So ****. You think a lot of these guys that came from nothing (and often it's really, really sad nothing) would be able to handle $180k? Ha. They'd get caught in less than a week because they'd be spending it quite publically. It's not going into some retirement fund LOL.

I DO wish that Universities could offer insurance plans (if they don't already) that gives stars huge paydays if they get injured during their senior year. I think that's more than fair to compensate them for having a live potentially ruined with that injury soleby by doing the right thing and returning.

I just have a hard time believing Nick Chubb would have accepted a "measly" $180,000 to come back for his senior year when he would have received MILLIONS by opting to turn pro. Simply being drafted, let alone making a team, would have garnered him far more than $180,000. That really makes no sense. Plus, I don't believe top-level programs pay kids anymore, there's just too much for them to lose. Now your bottom-feeders, maybe so. After all, they're already at the bottom of the pack, so it might be worth it to them to catch lightening in a bottle.

But to answer @Silver_Britches question, DawgNation and any other outlet, has to (and should) report such allegations. They would look **** to not report it while other outlets certainly are or will. It's already in the public domain -- Nick Chubb himself used Twitter to respond to the allegations -- so there is no hiding this. And waiting on evidence to report things is not the way journalism is done.

Anyone can say anything. If he doesn't have evidence to back up any of what he said or no firsthand knowledge, he might have just sank his own ship. This smells. Not as it seems. There is an endgame here and it has all to do with that, not UGA. IMO. All of those guys risked millions for not even a 10th of what could have gotten? And it was obvious that they ALL helped their draft stock by staying, particularly Chubb. Except Bellamy and he needed to stay another year. Like I said, anyone can run their mouth. I think they will really regret releasing this video. Who hatched this plan? SMH

Maybe they are trying to make some much needed money by putting this click-bait on Youtube...

Amen !! Fully agree with you !! I’m not sure If an institution like UGA can sue in a situation like this but if they can, they Should !! Perhaps that would stop or at least greatly reduce people like this guy from making accusations without supporting evidence. This is a put up or shut up situation. If this guy can’t put up he needs to Shut up !! Perhaps ole Rush needs to rush to the yellow pages to get himself a lawyer !! Even if there’s not even a vague shred of truth in this there could be a little damage done on recruits that are riding the fence about coming to UGA. I mean if there are schools tied with UGA in the recruit’s thinking this Might be harmful. I’m not a lawyer by a looong stretch, but that alone is cause for a law suit for damages against this Dud oops Dude !! I think he just wanted to sound important, like he’s In The Know or something. UGA needs to use legal remedies and help this Dud shut his mouth though !!
