Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Well, sounds like other than a vote, this thing is a done deal. And I don't see 4 teams voting against the expansion.
This will certainly change the dynamic of recruiting and retaining players and adds another layer of complexity along with the transfer portal and NIL. I agree with Mike's analysis in that other than the money the Dawgs are on the losing end of this situation.
I say we invite Ohio State and Clemson to include all the teams that matter. The SEC Championship will essentially be the National Championship. Play it around New Years and do our own **** playoff. Let everyone else figure it out. That's essentially what it turns into anyway.
It is my understanding under the new proposed 12 team playoff format, a single conference can only have a maximum of 4 teams. Over time I believe this will hurt the SEC
If this happens, the schedule has to allow for a faster rotating schedule. A 9-game schedule is a given, but the SEC needs to either establish the 4 pods, or eliminate the permanent cross-division opponent. Two divisions would also demand a real realignment. Make sure the east and west are clearly defined.
If they're gonna add two, I'd much rather add Oklahoma and Clemson, and tell Texas to pound sand. That protects A&M (who I'm NO fan of) and Arkansas. The ACC will have to do something either way, and if Notre Dame continues to require their independence in football, the pickings will be slim. Sure, they could add, West Virginia and maybe, UCF. Cincinnati? I understand the advantage for the conference and suspect this is the first move toward creating a football superconference of up to 32 teams, which would likely bring in FSU, Miami, Clemson, ND, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, and more. Where does it stop? The conference surely will benefit, but I'm not sure that college football will. JMO.
This is the end game everyone keeps talking about. I don't really understand it myself. How can 32 (or however many) teams even be called a conference? No geographical link. Teams would go, what, like a decade and a half between games? I mean, are we talking about just straight up taking the NFL model? And if so, what happens to the other hundred or so FBS teams? The more this sinks in the more I hate it.
