Of course this is an impossible task christopher....if ur over 30 yrs of age...but I'll try:)
My fave Classic: (whenever I see Paul, I think Luke...def his best role)
Fave Comedies: (uh-huh, I like Bill Murray and Harold Ramis)
Fave Drama: (watch'em together...and yeah, I'd take this duo over The Godfather 1 and 2)
Whatever Category: (not gonna say I'd watch it every day...but once a month...easy as a cellar door)
p.s. We're a PG-13 fam now....so I've got the cable-edit for all these...and they're just as good:)
Unforgiven over TOMBSTONE?!
Agree...Tombstone and Outlaw Josey Wales a toss up behind The Good Bad & **** for me.
speaking as someone who used to be able to recite the dialog of Tombstone, yes.
Westerns worth mentioning, Little Big Man, Once Upon a Time in the West. Steve McQueen's Tom Horn. Sort of a western, Treasure of the Sierra Madre and Last Picture Show. Best ever western comedy, Blazing Saddles. Old classics, Red River and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Somebody really needs to revive the western genre. Been too long since we had a great one.
I don't get Tarantino. For some reason, his movies leave me "meh". that is just me and clearly I am in a minority.
That's another wow. He's one of my all-time favorites and has yet to make a movie I didn't absolutely love.
BOB is one of my all time favorite tv series. The Pacific version is also good.
Since I'm getting so much heat for not providing a list of favorite movies. Here goes: (In no particular order)
Citizen Kane
Gone With The Wind
2001 Space Odyssey
Apocalypse Now
The Searchers (Western)
Fargo (Dark comedy)
There's Something About Mary
Godless is a great one
From your list, The Searchers is my favorite. Pretty intense.
The masked scene in Django Unchained is one of the funniest scenes I’ve ever seen.
“Dam.n, I can’t see f’ing s out of this thing.”
”who made this GD shi+”
”Willard’s wife”
”we’ll make your own GD mask next time!”
”look, nobody’s saying they didn’t appreciate what Jenny did”
”If all I had to do was cut a hole in a bag I could have done better than this”
”what about you Robert, can you see?”
”not very good, if I don’t move my head I can see you pretty good, more or less, but when I start riding the bags movin all over and I’m riding blind”
”shi+, I just made mine worse. Did anyone bring extra bags?”
”NO, NOONE BROUGHT EXTRA BAGS.”
”I’m just askin”
Thats all I have memorized. Don’t know why I have that memorized.
I didn’t post the scene because of inappropriate language…..
but that scene is hilarious.
The Pacific is different from Band Of Brothers by design. Spielberg and Hanks wanted to show a broader picture of the WWII experience for our soldiers than the focus on a tight knit unit in BOB. More looks of home life, soldiers on leave, hospital convalescence, etc.
The Searchers, She wore a yellow ribbon, Fort Apache, Winchester 76, Young Guns and The Wild Bunch . Are are all very good.
She Wore A Yellow Ribbon. First movie I ever saw, My parents took me along. I may have been in kindergarten at the time. I still can hum that tune. Sigh.
Watch Hell On Wheels. If it's still on Netflix. It will give you your western fix.
