Awesome, grateful and emotional week for me and my family.
Moving my daughter into her dorm at The University of Arkansas on Wednesday.
She’s my oldest.
Will be an Awesome next 4 years for her.
I’m extremely grateful and blessed to be able to provide this opportunity to her.
But this is so emotional to me. I know many of you have already done this. I know it’s time for a new season in life and I know she is ready.
But I’m not quite ready for her to leave. To be honest, tears are streaming as I’m typing.
These two pics seem like yesterday.
And this pic is me and her seconds after the last out of her last softball game.
God is good and I’m a very proud dad.
Go Dawgs!!!!

That's awesome!
Tell her make sure that her 'Woo Pig, Sooie' still comes second to 'Go Dawgs'.
Her Woo Pig, Sooie’ will be bigger than her Go Dawgs.
But mine will never be. My wife bought me an Arkansas shirt for Christmas. Still has the tags on it.
I assured my daughter that I will always be respectful while on the Arkansas campus and not wear my Red and Black…..but also said I won’t be wearing an Arkansas shirt either.
Congrats TexDawg on your daughter's beginning at Arkansas. My daughter just graduated from Clemson this year (she had a near full ride there vs. full out of state tuition at UGA.) I told her I would always be proud of her for her accomplishments, even if it was from Clemson, but not to ever expect to see me in orange and when we beat them in Charlotte this year, I would let her hear it. I know you arr proud of her.
Congratualtions Tex, it speaks well for you, providing for and guiding a child to the point they are prepared for going off to college is a huge accomplishment.
bless you brother. Good job!!
Odds are she'll be a Razorback through and through by the time she graduates. Heck, my family was all Bama going back generations. We moved to Georgia when I was 5 years old, I went to Georgia, now Bama is my mortal enemy.
Thank you billydawg
Thank you sir
Congratulations to you, and your daughter both @texdawg (heck, your whole family too for that matter) - that is just huge!!!
That's terrific!
Congratulations Tex to you and your family! I remember dropping my youngest off at South Carolina 15 years ago, her mom cried all the way home.. I waited till later that evening. But life moves on and so will your relationship with your daughter. My wife and I are heading to Vegas in 10 days to stay with our youngest in her new house that has just been finished. The woman has worked towards this for over a decade and it's so great when you see your family realize their dreams.. best of luck to your daughter as she starts the adulting part of her life.
Thanks brotha
But honestly, with Sam P there, if I ever considered pulling for another program, a second favorite if you will, there’s no doubt who it currently would be. Appreciate the words and pictures, very touching thing to share with us. Go Dawgs & Good Luck Hogs!
There was a commercial a few years ago of a dad pushing his child on a tire swing and the child was grown up when the child came back, knocking the dad down because he was not ready. So true. It goes by so fast and no matter how hard you try to be ready, you cannot help but be knocked down a bit when the time comes. Congratulations and keep your hanky handy.
Tex, I’m sure you’ve probably seen it, but I had never heard of the movie, “Greater,” until the Covid lockdown. After watching it, I was pretty close to becoming a Hog fan. Throw in Pittman and I certainly can root for them some! On your emotional moment with your daughter, it is very typical. I was really emotional about my oldest leaving the nest. Something about breaking up your nuclear family for the first time, just hard to do for loving parents.
