Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I dread this day, but congrats Tex bro.
but also look forward to it... ?
For sure.
Congratulations. You and your wife have done your jobs well and now they take what you've taught them and move on to the next phase of their life. My wife and I are empty nesters, so we know what you're going through.
It’s awesome and tough all at once. My oldest went off to Charleston Southern last year. It was tough to watch her last volleyball match, but her freshman year - even in Covid - was a wonderful year for her. Congrats on all your successes as a father. May they continue!
And I will be in Athens in November with my daughter as she wears her navy and gold for those Buccaneers. It will be her first time not in red and black in Sanford. I, of course, will have on enough red for us both.
That is awesome.
We started singing in church today and I started crying. Been crying off and on for the past two days. Never know when it is going to hit.
I’m an emotional mess.
Yes. Also look forward to it. As emotional as it is it would be much worse if her friends were leaving for college and my daughter didn’t have the same opportunity.
May touch base with you that weekend. Because of his schedule my son will only be able to do his Georgia game unofficial for either the Missouri or Charleston game.
If it’s the Charleston game we’ll need to meet.
Thank all of you for your kind words.
Admittedly I shared my story on Dawgnation because I needed some positive feedback.
And you guys didn’t disappoint. It was extremely helpful.
We leave Tuesday and move her in on Wednesday. My wife and I head back home on Thursday and that is the day I dread the most.
But I know my sadness will be short lived and I’m excited for this next chapter.
Many of you are also aware of the young man I’ve mentored them past few years. Joseph is headed to Yale after one year of prep school in Connecticut. Extremely proud of him as well.
A lot of emotions right now. But also excited for both of them.
Tex, you are a DG Father, Mentor and Dawg. Your journey and path has brought tears to my eyes also and hopefully a reason others should look your way and be inspired.
Thank you. I can be a bit sentimental and emotional.
Most of the good men I've know have been.. great pics by the way that is a handsome bunch !
Gracias my friend
You sure brought back memories of both happiness and tears. Taking my daughter off to U VA in 1980. Now in two weeks she is taking her daughter off to Georgetown University. The cycle repeats but the worry never stops.
Thanks
Cannot compare with Tex in the heart felt. Will drive oldest daughter as a Freshman across a long State to Pitt next week. Currently 4 ladies 16 and up telling me how to do what I know how to do at home so I am good when that changes to 3. The sentimental part is it is Fall in the Pic and I remember fondly CMR teams from those days. And very happy for you Tex.
