Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Freedom isn't free. Responsibility only counts when it comes with consequence to guide your choices.
I personally am vaxxed and have started wearing a mask in public places again as a precaution, but I have a high risk child at home, so my decision has been made for me. That being said, when you are dealing with a highly contagious raspatory illness, standing in close quarters with strangers who will be yelling over your shoulder for hours on end, does sound like the perfect recipe to spreading said virus. I respect your choice to not protect yourself, but also understand the huge liability it could be for an academic institution to not have some sort of rules in place for protecting other people. If you see me this year, you will see me in a mask. I only ask that you respect that decision, as I will attempt to respect yours.
I can appreciate your valuing individual decision making. But where do you draw the line - going 95 mph in a school zone ? Shooting someone ? Robbing banks instead of working for a living ? Individual drawing of lines has potential problems, no ?
I draw the line somewhere between proof of vaccination and your over-sensationalized examples.
Congratulations 🎊🎉
Exactly. A lot of LSU fans are learning this lesson, and I have feeling a lot more sports fans will also find out.
With regards to personal health, all decisions must be voluntary. Been this way for 74 years- international law. If we forget history, we will pay the price.
This is true in most cases but there are three exceptions:
1. Declared incompetent by a court
2. Public health measures
3. Certain law enforcement situations
Wasn't that the point ? Where does one draw the line ? What values drive the decision and, then, how might it affect others. I could have said 55 mph or 35 mph and it might make the decision a little less clear, but it's still a decision some one makes and one that can affect others. I'm near 80 and been vaccinated twice. However, I live right in the Gainesville area and so I still mask up, even at cross country practice outdoors. In my value system it is a small price to pay for perhaps keeping someone else safe and, maybe even me, if my vaccine "fades" over time. But that's just my value system.
The bad Gainesville?
I see now negative test allowed so not as bad. At least that’s somewhat reasonable.
To take a quote from Tombstone,
No one's saying you have to be vaccinated
No one's saying you have to be vaccinated to leave your house
We are just saying you have to be vaccinated (or negative test proof) to go to a LSU football game
I think the logistics of proof of a 72 hour molecular test is unfair and useless because depending on the amount of tests the lab is submitting you may not get your result in time. Which would **** waiting to get in on some email from a lab.
So essentially for a Saturday game you have to get tested between Wednesday at 1130am through 8pm to have the most likely possibility of getting results on time. Centers and appointments will obviously be in high demand at those times. Plus you could catch Covid on Thursday and Friday making your Wednesday test useless.
im not saying anything about vaccines and testing etc. but I think a 72 hour rule, while well intentioned, is dumb and illogical. Just tell people if you come to a game you have a chance of catching Covid and if you are symptomatic or think you have been exposed, stay home. Make up your own mind on going.
Isn't it really saying vaccinate or be discriminated against?
