Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Athens recommendations, go-to's, meet-up
Guys...I'll be headed out to Athens next week for the UK game, and staying a few days. There are a few spots that are on my short list to partake in. But, I also wanted to get recommendations from Dawg Nation: restaurants, bars, breweries, live music, places of interest, facilities (are the new football buildings/Butts Mehre currently open to the public?), your must-see spots/traditions, etc. I'll be judging, lol. Actually, I trust you guys have better dope than Yelp.
If anyone will be in town, or headed to the game, it would be great to meet, chat, have an adult soda, and enjoy some Dawgraderie...actually looking to move back to north GA in the near future.
Thanks in advance and Go Dawgs!

Older thread from the past, but some good insight. I'm sure others will give you a tip or two also.
I hope so, thank you!
Creatures Comfort downtown for a good beer outside especially tropicalia
Chucks fish can be expensive but solid. on broad st across from Springhill suites
fuzzy taco - it’s downtown too. Had a good bar too
Thanks for the tips; Chuck's looks like a solid dinner spot. So many breweries popping up in town; is Creatures one of the originals?
yea...really good stuff too. if you're not down with the ipa, classic city lager is fantastic
Ok, that is good to know; I was a little skeptical given their large production. I hear the promo daily on the podcast, lol...sounds like a go-to for pregame; will pick me up some. I drink em all; hard to live in CA and not have a list of IPA's (or red wines) to recommend.
Whenever I go home to Augusta I make sure to pick up a sixer of the stuff.
I'm on it
