BRAVES WIN ! a walk off base hit by Riley in the 9th wins it 3-2. Albies got a single with 1 out, stole 2nd and Riley brought him home for the win.
Albies’ positive attitude is infectious.
He's a good team member. Scherzer against Anderson could be a great one in game 2.
Albies and Acuna are both so fun. It’s infectious. And Freddie’s class.
I'm not sure who The Braves' clubhouse leaders are, I'm pretty sure FF is one of them. Paul O'Neill was a leader of 5 WS teams, first with Cincy for his 1st title, then 4 titles with The Yankees. Joe Torre called him the soul of those great NY Yankees teams. When he retired, they stopped winning World Series'. I'm not sure I ever saw the man smile though, he led by example. Freddie is clearly affable, but not really a laugh riot, at least not that is obvious.
As my Daddy would say, it takes all kinds.
Love Freeman, will be a HOF'er. But I say this every year...this isn't baseball in April...why does he ham it up and crack jokes with the opponents at first base? Maybe it shouldn't, but it drives me crazy. October isn't the time for graba$$
I think that's just him. If it helps keep him loose//relaxed I have no problem with it. When I was a kid, I never saw much of that stuff - of course, games were in black and white and cameras were nothing like what they are today and there are so many cameras too. It may have gone on even back then. Seems natural to me that people who know and likely respect each other might chat a bit. Especially at first base.
I think there's room on a team for different personalities. It did appear Freddie was giving away at bats too easily last night though. Going back to Paul O'Niell, in postseason play he treated every at bat and every strike like life or death. Regardless of whether a player does it with a set jaw like O'Niell or with a smile, never, ever give away at bats in postseason, fight like every pitch is life or death.
Exactly right about fighting every at bat. Braves aren’t known for that but maybe this rag tag team is different, hope so, because that’s what it takes.
Los Bravos just got tagged for a 2 run hr by The Dodgers in the 1st inning. Anderson's runs surrendered over 5 plus post season starts doubled with one swing of the bat .
Ian’s gotta keep the ball down or it’s gonna be a short night.
Whoever the person is who loves the DV, you're a ****.
Also, Freeman has tried to hit a 5 run hr on every swing since his series ending hr against The Brewers. The result is 5 straight **** strike outs. He'd better get his head out of his arse real soon.
Pretty sure Ian’s thrown for more balls than strikes…
Freeman has lost his mind. Every swing is just taking a huge hack at the ball. It's 6 straight strike outs to start the series, an all time NLCS record.
un-Freddie like. Not sure what's going on in his mind. Don't think they would or could afford to sit him for a game.
