Great question and Strickland's Boss is the boosters at UF!

They have to be infuriated with the "The MuLLLLLet Syndromes" and the BS his agent put out there about a person of interest for one of the 2 OC openings in the NFL!

The weird part, fire SS, is mentioned more than MuLLLLLet Man!

SS gave him an extension and a raise after an 8-4 season - Outside of beating us, he did nothing note worthy! Lost to LSU, Bama and Oklahoma,

    1. What made it weird was all the excuses he gave afterward! AND they still gave him a raise!
    2. He wanted to break COVID protocols after the loss to A&M (Because he thought A&M cheated with the 12th man) and they still gave him an extension.
    3. He received a one-year show cause from the NCAA and that MuLLLLLet lied during the investigation and "did not promote an atmosphere of compliance," AND they gave him an Extension, Raise and a "Rolling" 12.5 MM dollar buyout!

Somebody, somewhere, knows something about some of this, but for now....

"You grab that rope Johnny boy and you and Soda pop, you keep pulling on that rope until it burns! Don't worry about the Mullet Man, he isn't gonna quit, he is going to thumb wrestle anyone who asks him about Recruiting or why he fell pray to the failed "Richardson Experiment"! Smoke up Johnny and bring me my Turkey Pot pie, did I stutter?

This FSU game will be a big deal!

We can only hope that this is the desired outcome!

Some have thrown out the hypothesis that Charlie Strong will have an opportunity at the DC position.

Surely they can't make the same mistake, 4 times in row, "The MuLLLLLet Syndrome" is real!

  • Charlie Strong would be fine by me. His heyday was 15 years ago. If Mullen was smart, he’d give the keys to a Dan Lanning or Glenn Schumann type and let him do his thing.

I would love for Dan to go back to a familiar face he knows who hasn’t adapted or done anything new.

What you guys are saying may be true but UF has had huge success in football over the past 30 years. Maybe there's been a shift like with Flarda's 2 other elite programs, but it seems at least as likely that the right HC can turn it around like Meyer did after a drop off when Spurrier left.

  • all that team needed was a competent coach. Zook was like the inverse of Mullen, bad game day coach, great recruiter. Urban took a good base, and ran with it. Took over a conference that had no Saban. Georgia was in hold steady mode. LSU was still recovering from Saban's departure. The conference was down as a whole. Urban came in and changed the game.

Unless they improve recruiting from the top down, they will stay in this mode of every 4-5 years being able to contend when everything falls right. Can they improve recruiting without full help from the admin? I suppose, but I wouldn't bet on it as long as Mullen is the man in charge.

Fire Grantham and keep Mullllin? Mullllin would probably get one more year to show improvement. He would be a lame duck. What defensive coordinator in their right mind would ride that sinking ship? The folks with money in their pockets had better tell SS to clean house. Bring in a new coach and staff. That coach would be looking at at least a two year rebuilding job to fix the mess that Mullllin leaves. Florida would be sitting near the bottom of the East for those two years. Stick with Mullllin and maybe be a mid tier team for the next two years and no future as long as Mullllin is there. I would clean house now and look down the road. With a good hire they could be returning to being respectable in year three. With the portal the coach could hit it lucky and maybe be back in two years.

Man, if I'm an up and coming HC and have offers from LSU, PSU or USC I'm taking USC. The P12 is just horrendous and USC is the only big game in town for recruiting. That is the program most likely to return to greatness.
