Exactly what I've been saying, if you can't recruit Georgia, you won't be elite. Once you take care of your state, you can cherry pick others, I. e. Kirby Smart. A lot folks don't think Jonas is ready for a big time job, but as one assistant, now National Championship Coach said Kirby Smart: "There’s no coach out there that you can out-coach recruiting. No coaching is going to out-coach players. There ya go !

While I don't put it past Mike Griffith to "misremember" the facts (video of Louis Cine #blowing up #4 Brian Robinson" when it was clearly #6 Sanders vs AL) to try and make a point I have to call BS on JS on Josh Taylor being "#10 overall" in'20. Ranked 130 (after reclassification) by Rivals. More than that I saw him play numerous times at Norcross and the young man just wasn't that good. Not even sure if he is still at UGA. Haven't heard a peep about him since he left HS. Have seen 100's of HS BBall games in GA. Taylor did not look like a D1 player in HS.

Hayes is someone who would have immediate credibility with the current players and recruits. At this point the only way to go is up.

    Good morning @UGADad20

I wrote this story and just wanted to thank you for pointing out something I needed to clarify better. The context of bringing up Josh Taylor as No. 10 overall was for being the No. 10 overall player in the state in that class. Not the nation.

Taylor was ranked on the 247Sports Composite scale as the state's No. 10 player in 2020. I've since updated the post to clarify Edwads as No. 1 in Georgia and Taylor as No. 10 in their respective years.

Lest we forget, Edwards was not the nation's No. 1 overall player in 2019. That honor belonged to Memphis signee and current Golden State 7-footer James Wiseman.
