NATIONAL DEEP DISH PIZZA DAY
Whoa!! My heart skipped a beat when I saw this choice today. There were 12 possibilities, and I was incapable of not choosing this one.
NATIONAL DEEP DISH PIZZA DAY
On April 5th, National Deep Dish Pizza Day gives pizza lovers a day to celebrate one of America’s favorite varieties of pizza.
Whether it’s dine-in, delivered, take out or homemade, deep-dish pizza satisfies pizza lovers all across the country. Pick whatever toppings you like. This day focuses on the deep crust that holds an amazing amount of sauce and toppings. Like other styles of pizza, the deep-dish menu offers a variety of combinations to choose from. If you prefer an all meat pizza, the deep-dish makes it. Top it with vegetables galore. Or order extra mushrooms, the deep-dish can manage.

i love pizza casserole aka deep dish pizza
There used to be a chain of pizza places in Atlanta called " Chicagos" which had THE best deep dish pizzas (modeled after, ironically, pizzas from Chicago) and they even had individual deep dish pies that were about the size of chicken pot pies just thicker.
Man they were good. Had TVs all around and had a TV at each table. Just a great joint! Always packed, just a shame it went out of business.
I love deep dish. I always make a point to have some when I’m in or near Chicago. Chicago area has many great deep dish places.
Other areas have good deep dish as well I’m sure, but this gives me a reason took look forward to traveling to Chicago.
That's just a lasagna
I have to be in the mood for deep dish, but when I am I love it!
My wife found a place up in Boone, NC when our family went to the mountains last summer. I love that part of NC! The mountains are just gorgeous and you're right there at the Blue Ridge Parkway.
It's near Appalachian State, and man was it good! Nothing fancy at all...I think it was an old Hardee's restaurant, but the pizza was really good.
IIRC, the owner had gone to Chicago for a few years to help his brother with his restaurant there, and then decided to come back and open up a place of his own.

Nah, doesn’t have noodles.
But a deep dish pizza can be fantastic. There’s a place here in the city that’s really great for it. I still prefer NY style though.
😂 The first time I had true deep dish it did seem like a casserole. I don’t think I got through two slices
New haven style is the way
My 3 yr old niece shared your preference just this past weekend...
Man, THAT is a slice. Holy moley!!
Koronet?
If that's on the west side of the Hudson (they serve NY style in Jersey, don't they?), then maybe?
Ah no. Koronet is on the upper west side near Columbia. Do similar huge style slices. I remember the days id eat two of those in one sitting
