- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Georgia football podcast: Here’s one way history could repeat itself for UGA
Georgia football is the No. 1 topic every day on DawgNation Daily — the daily podcast for fans of the national champion Georgia Bulldogs. Catch up on everything happening with UGA athletics with host Brandon Adams and the DawgNation experts as they break down the latest Georgia football recruiting news and discuss coach Kirby Smart’s quest to keep the Bulldogs on top of the college football world. On episode No. 1,748 (Aug. 3, 2022) of the podcast, Georgia fans can hear a discussion about why the preseason chatter around UGA is similar to what was taking place last season ahead of what eventually resulted in a national championship for the Bulldogs.

Honestly this is absurd. UGA lost 5 #1 picks on defense. This was their entire starting DL! Included the #1 overall pick and the Outland winner (plus an LB and safety). Past the first round they lost the Butkus Award winner at LB, a former All-ACC CB who started in 3 straight playoffs and 2 title games (off the field trouble and a 4.7 40 time is the only reason why he wasn't a 2nd round pick) and another LB who would have been a 3 year starter at literally any other school in the country.
Ohio State meanwhile lost a couple of WRs. That's really all, unless you want to count a 3rd round LT, a 3rd round TE and a 7th round RT. (OSU doesn't throw to the TE, and they have a junior and a senior starting at OT backed up by a redshirt soph.) The funny part? Ohio State didn't even lose their best WR. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was Ohio State's leading WR last season by 600 yards. (Note: no UGA WR last year even had 500 yards.) And when Olave and Wilson sat out the Rose Bowl, true freshman Marvin Harrison Jr - the 6'3" 205 lb. son of former NFL Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison - started and caught 3 TDs. The third WR was the #1 WR recruit in the country in 2020. How's 6'3" and 210 lbs and runs a 4.35 for a slot WR?
And we are leaving out the main reason why no one is concerned about Ohio State losing Olave and Wilson: C.J Stroud. 4400 yards and 44 TDs (against 6 INTs) in 14 games. Barring injury he, not Bryce Young, will be the #1 pick in the draft next year because Stroud is 6'3" to Young's 5'11". (Even if Jacksonville or the Jets finish with the worst record they will trade the pick.) So, if he his an above average WR he will have 1000 yards receiving just by virtue of C.J. Stroud getting him the ball.
Claiming that Ohio State's WRs are anything comparable to the historic losses that UGA had on defense last year just makes the person making the claim look ridiculous. Especially after Alabama lost their 2 starting WRs from their 2020 team and had a passing offense that was nearly as good the next season (it was their running game and OL that were worse). And Alabama didn't even have their 1st round draft pick Heisman candidate QB returning.
Sooo who did os beat that would scare anyone, that's right. Is this the same os team all the press gets excited about, or are they the usual suspects? We likely won't know till the playoffs, unless like last year, they get boat raced by a um team that UGA schooled.
Who plays on Ohio State’s defense that you think would get starter snaps on our defense?
