I like it.
Maybe a little bit of rat poison antidote for us.
Maybe a dose of Rat Poison™ for them.
Other than that...Yawn.
Go, Dawgs!
Disagree with TN at #1 based on squeaky wins against Pitt and Florida after Tech and UGA beat those teams handily. They get the Bama Bias Bounce without the same scrutiny the Dawgs were shown. Bama May bounce back but they were lucky to beat two bad and overhyped teams in Texas and ATM. Dawgs over Oregon was better than UTjr over Bama and OSU over Penn St.
And speaking of marquis wins, Clemson has none and won’t but were socially promoted as is their history. SMH.
Sh_t just hit the fan for the vols. The pressure just hit them squarely in the face. They may have been excited for a few seconds and then reality set in. They are now the hunted and they’re heading to the home of the best hunter in the land. Kirby will be on his game. They’re not ready for it. They think they’re ready but they’re not. Get ready for some Boom mfers on Saturday. Go Dawgs!
I'm watching Jim Donnan's video and he said something like, "Do you think Kirby has those analysts getting ready for Georgia Tech?"
Kirby has had this game circled since the spring!
No doubt. This was always THE game of the year on our schedule. They didn’t just start preparing this week for them.
Yeah, there's a lot of hypocrisy going on when I hear them explain their rankings. I also saw this "“The defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown in the first quarter, which was part of our discussion.”" I'm not sure what team they're talking about, UGA maybe? But what a **** stat to focus on. Last time I checked the game isn't a 1st quarter game. That all said, being ranked 3rd and having UT ranked 1st is gift.
Someone made a great point on Twitter last night about CFP rankings…
”the only one that matters is the last one. Everything before that is a tv show.”
Frankly, anywhere in the top 4 is fine… that means if your team wins all its games they are in. Anything else is just bragging rights. 😎
Right. Tennessee fans rushed the field again last night. And they’re having a number 1 parade on Thursday.
I think at this point it is strategery (for those of you in Rio Linda who get that).
They have two teams in the SEC in their top 4, and neither of them is Alabama.
I think putting Tennessee at #1 is the same thought process as putting LSU #10...it helps Alabama...anything to help Alabama and hurt Georgia (I think that's the crux of all this). The anti-UGA bias is something most of us have noticed for years.
People complain about UGA's weak schedule, but Clempsun's schedule is a real joke, but if they win the ACC, they would be in I guess.
Plus, they weren't about to make Tennessee and UGA 1 and 2 ahead of this week's game, so The was the lucky recipient of that quandary.
The TN fans are racing toward Alabama-like levels of being a cult...insufferable!
Jim Donnan said on his Youtube video yesterday that he likes UGA's chances, and that we shouldn't sell our team short! Kirby and his analysts have been on this game for months, and I can't wait to see what Monken has schemed for it. And having Nolan on the sideline may be an unexpected blessing!
Go Dawgs!
Mostly agree, except Nolan on the sideline and not on the field is a material disadvantage. The younger LBs are going to get their chance to put ‘next man up’ into serious practice.
I know...and I agree! My wife accuses me of being pessimistic, so I'm trying to see the silver lined britches!
While I think being at #3 is a definite blessing on multiple levels, my years of acute Munsinitus is flaring up really bad this week.
Our team is both deep and talented, but we need to remember how young so many of our players are. It's time for them to grow up. Will they?
The committee clearly favors explosive offensive teams which they think look great on the television. Defense is not high on their list of favorable attributes. They also don't like Georgia for reasons mysterious to all of us, but they love themselves some Alabama and THE.
I'm surprised THE wasn't ranked #1.
Mostly it's all a Big Yawn, but I'll take the anti rat poison.
Tennessee can have the Rat Poison™.
Go, Dawgs!
Agree we have to adjust. As bad as these injuries seem, let's not forget we lost Adam Anderson at the exact same point last season, and we were out Pickens on O. The youngsters are unknowns, but hopefully the staff can get some of these guys ready. I think one of the keys for UGA's incredible defensive run has been LB speed. You can't run from our D, and we still have some fast guys on the depth chart. I just hope they can get a fast guy ready because a slower LB could cost us against a mobile QB like HH. I'm also wondering if they might get creative--put #15, #33, #2, and #10 in there together? One thing I feel great about is the football IQ of our staff, so I'm confident.
