Sounds like coach Searels is due full credit for signing Freeling. That's what you expect from the best coaching staff in college football.

Another BIG Dawg. Great catch by Searles. Still waiting on Nicolai Brooks.

Good stuff as always Jeff. Sounds like CSS has evolved and is getting better as a coach and recruiter. I wish UGA would emphasize their academics more in their recruiting, they would see a benefit in all sports.

    Logical question @pgriffith

Here's why: Some of the photos used in this article are file photos. They were published and created earlier in the 2022 season and right after he chose UGA. That's back when Freeling was still rated as a 4-star recruit.

By the time the final rankings came out in January of 2023, his evaluation has soared some 20-50 spots for some of the services and was then seen as a 5-star onbothj the 247Sports Composite and the On3 Industry Ranking.

Wanted to include a range of photos in the story here with Freeling. Did not mean for those "older" and "dated" captions to confuse anyone.

I'll be honest: we sometimes wonder if folks even read the captions anymore. Glad to know that some still do.
