19 is jacked! One of the greatest...

7 pre-season AA's. I predict we will have 10 at end of season.

I believe Mr. Steele left off a few Dawgs.....Mondon, Lovett, Beck, Sorey, Tykee, Bouie, Chambliss, Mims. Truss, Stackhouse, Walthour, Logue.....and how in the hell did he leave off McConkey??

During Saban's heyday which is still going, Alabama fans were disappointed if they didn't win a National Championship. Rarely have teams in college sustained this level over 3-4 years, but Alabama has even longer. Now it seems that UGA has entered into the realm of Dynasties. I hope we are just scratching the surface and this goes on for many years to come. I have family members who are Gayturds, Awburn Tigers, and Clemson and they are fit with jealousy. I would throw Clemson under to bus but mom my taught at Clemson so I pull for them except when they play us.

Mondon is better than JDJ. Mims is better than Van Pran and I know that sounds like a stretch but it is not. Mims may leave as the best or 2nd best tackle we've ever had. Beck and Lovett both potential AAs. Stack and McHonkey are also potential AAs. So out of your list 6 more potential ones. I think we have 10 total by years end after getting the 3-Peat.

The best thing not mentioned, is that UGA is developing players, and not just the Blue Chip, and not just on defensive side (Stet, Ladd, etc.) at a higher level than any other program. GATA !!!

Arguably some omissions, but at least the so-called experts are beginning to understand what we already know-- UGA has an elite roster worthy of awards and press. Go Dawgs!

"Lol...the Dawgs roster sounds like an All-Star Team on it's own."....BigDawg61, while compiling my list I didn't LOL but looking at all of the potential AA's that are freshman gave me a big ole smile !......Maybe next year Mr. Steele will just put our whole TEAM on the cover!

It reminds me of the response the Eagles scout person had when asked "who do you like down there?"

"I like them all!" he said. Ha ha!

With all due respect, sir, you have lost your mind. Mondon has better measurables than JDJ, but that does not a better player make. As for the “Mims over SVP” comment, this is where you really drive in the ditch. Not only is SVP a better OL than Mims, I would argue that he is perhaps the best, or at least most important (apologies to BB) players on the team. Mims’s measurables and upside are elite for sure…but his value to the team isn’t really close to that of SVP.

Phil Steele gets it……an honorary DGD!!

    Go Dawgs!

It's ok. We don't all have to agree on everything. SVP is definitely more valuable now from a leadership standpoint. Mims though is going to be the next great tackle. Losing Mims I think would be a bigger loss since it is hard to find tackles like him. As much as I like SVP we have someone who can fill in if needed who is more than capable and might get drafted as well (Blaske). As far as DJD and Mondon...I like Mondon better so personal preference imo. I think it would be a bigger loss also to lose Mondon then DJD but once again just an opinion. The great news is we have them all.

Steele's got it about right IMO. I'm surprised he put Bullard on the first team. But it makes sense based on the way Javon was playing at the end of last season.

Next up for me (in order of likelihood to make it onto one Steele's FOUR post-season AA teams): Mondon, Mims, Lovett, Truss, Beck, McConkey and Lassiter.

Because Steele puts two RBs on each of his team, I'd like to put Milton on the list because I doubt there are eight RBs who are better than him when healthy. But even a healthy Milton isn't likely to get enough carries for the recognition.

And ... AD Mitchell. Oops. Nah. But he should make one of the teams for Texas. (Yeah, I've having a hard time letting go of AD!)

McHonkey? Sounds like the new McDonald's Chicken Fried Steak meal.

That's what my LSU friends call him. "He's darn good that McHonkey guy!" LOL
