Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Happy 4th! What's your plan?
Flag is aloft. Grilling, sipping and then unleashing an arsenal over here in BHM. The Karens around me better have a diaper on their nervous cats when these mortar rounds are airborne (pointed North of course).
The crawler has been making its way to launch station Alpha since 5 AM.

Happy 4th all! We are actually running around trying to get ready for 2 weeks in Denmark—my lady’s home country. Our flight departs at 10:30pm. Shot our fireworks on Friday! 😬
That will be awesome. Just got back from a week in Ireland ourselves. Saw Sting and Blondie at a castle. Great time.
Well my fellas are shooting. I smoked a brisket over the weekend.
Played golf in Hilton Head with my two sons in law and my grandson!
Nothing better ….great time!
Now headed to the beach!
Go Dawgs!
Hanging for a bit with the fam by the lake and then driving back home. Been at the lake since Sunday.
Lmao just got back from Malahide myself
Watching Rocky II, about to start the grill up soon. Then will be setting off some serious fireworks. Go America! Faith, Family, Fireworks!
My sister brought our two younger daughters back after a week in CHS.
My wife fixed a Boston butt in the crock pot and two racks of ribs in the oven...the best tater salad and the creamiest mac and cheese I can remember. She usually grills hamburgers but I didn't want her in the heat!
That's the makings of a perfect Independence Day!
Now, if I could just convince everyone to watch "1776"!
Hope everyone's day is at least half as good!
Go Dawgs!
I’m a huge history person, my undergrad is in history. And yet I’ve never seen 1776. I’ve had it set to record on TCM for days now, it records tonight. I’ve been excited, tell me I’ve a good reason to be excited about this movie🤞
I was planning to make a plan but I got.....distracted?
Interesting article on the CNN webpage today - talks about how the American Revolution was just a small skirmish in a world wide war going on between the Brits and the French and some allies. As most historians do, American ones focused on what happened over here, almost to the exclusion of the rest of the "world war" that was going on. According to some, the end of the war for "American" Independence was fought off the shores of India about 6 months after the hostilities ended in the states. Interesting. Sort of like Florida fans - history only happens in very prescribed situations/dates. One would think there was nothing going on anywhere is college football other than around the short period of time that they were successful.
Classic tunes and fireworks on the Bay celebrating this great nation’s birth…
What did you think? I thought it was a great show. We stayed at the Morrison Hotel and apparently the concert promoters have a contract to use that for the artists and their crews. We saw Debbie Harry at dinner the night before the concert, had drinks with Sting's personal chef (Sting eats some wild stuff), eavesdropped on a conversation at the bar after the show with Clem Burke and Glen Matlock talking about the good old days, and then saw The Weeknd at breakfast the next day. Pretty Wild.
I was there for business so I didn’t have a chance to go to any of the concerts but the Malahide area and Ireland in general are incredible. I was at the Grand Hotel so we could hear the concerts every night at the village pubs
@Chopper Since you like fireworks, you might enjoy Jean Shepherd’s side-splitting humorous tales of shooting fireworks in his book “In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash.”
Many of the book’s stories are found in the now classic Christmas film “A Christmas Story,” which Shepherd himself narrates. His descriptive writing style is extremely funny and the fireworks chapter is one of my very favorites. Check it out!
