I've been with DTV for more than 25 years and just can't justify paying them almost $200 a month any longer for the channels the wife and I watch. I've researched the streaming channels and even did the free trial for Hulu a while back. The issue we had at the time was the internet not being sufficient. Come to find out later that our modem was about to die and it did. So I'm looking at streaming alternatives again.
I was ready to resubscribe to Hulu, but noticed that they don't carry CBS. My research also shows that most streaming services don't, except for Paramount+. Really no issues except Paramount doesn't support recording live TV. The wife loves the DVR feature to record CBS shows she can't watch live.
Anyone else have any ideas or fixes to that? We're TV only as far as TV. No phones, tablets etc.

I am currently using You-Tube TV for live TV streaming. I am happy with it thus far. I ran into issues with Hulu continuing to bill me after I paused services (I don’t want/need live TV, ESPN, etc. except during CFB season), and Hulu’s CS is almost impossible to reach by any method. You-Tube’s multiview feature is also good for watching multiple games at once. Just my thoughts/experiences.
Because we are in the mountains, even the digital antennas are pretty much worthless. We like the ATL local stations live for our own entertainment reasons, and at this point for us, it has to be satellite or internet.

Nope. They stopped it about 150 yards down the road and said they couldn't run it any further. Sucks big time.
It doesn't answer my questions about CBS, which was the main question. I guess I should highlight that part.
I have Hulu Live and get local CBS. Strange that you can't. If you want CBS than Paramount+ is the way to go. Has some really good shows and now includes Showtime
Right now, that seems to be the only option, but no DVR options on Paramount+. Wifey likes to to record her soaps. She may have to adjust to a new lifestyle...
Oh and you don't need a dvr with paramount+. Just watch your shows when you want to. Do a free trial...
Search her soaps and then add to your list and she can watch them whenever
It appears that she can watch her soap a day later as opposed to later in the day that she dvr'ed it. We may get this worked out...lol...

Pretty much sucks. We have a one lane road for street that is about the size of a normal driveway. They said it was too narrow to run the line any further. 5 of the 13 houses on my road have FO. It is what it is...

I am satisfied with both of them. Hulu includes Disney+ and ESPN+, Paramount+ must watch Joe Pickett, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown
You-Tube. Switched from Charter/Spectrum when they lost ESPN at start of college football season. Have all major networks plus a bunch more worthwhile channels. Can record multiple programs live simultaneously. Very satisfied so far. Still have C/S for internet, but considering T-Mobile. Probably switch in February when C/S “special” internet rates are due to increase. Good luck!
We have YouTube TV. Put whatever shows we want in the library and watch them whenever we want.
