I completely agree with you. I’m convinced that UM was counting on seeing FSU in that 4th spot, and they were very disappointed when it turned out to be Bama. None of those other playoff teams wanted to see Bama or UGA making the playoffs, and that tells you all you need to know about who the best teams in the nation really are!

I gotta be honest, I get FSU’s point about being left out. The beat a ranked LSU team and then an admittedly horrendous florida (both SEC) but they played their conference schedule and won out, including against a ranked clem(p)son. Who among us would not be angry in the same situation?
alabama got in because the committee would never keep them out if they can finagle an excuse to weasel them in and Texas is in due to beating bama. I get the argument that bama would likely beat FSU but seriously, I would have the same argument if I was FSU.
FSU and their pitiful conference should have allowed a 12 team when it was originally proposed.
And Kentucky had Clemson right where they wanted them and let them off the hook.
What else could it say. Hang your heads. No the guys that wanted to play tried and who cares about the others
Just for fun, I watched a post-game show from an FSU you tube channel. They started with the obligatory "give credit to Georgia," but quickly transitioned to emphasizing what a huge advantage Georgia had coming into the game. For, like, the rest of the video all they wanted to talk about was what coulda been, going as far as to say with a straight face the FSU would/could have even won the game.
Well, maybe I can't say this went on for the entire rest of the video, because I had enough and turned it off after one of them actually had the gall to say that Georgia didn't earn a playoff bid like Florida State did. This was immediately after the team they were dismissing had just beaten theirs by 60. They were standing on the field where it happened. Days later, I'm still marveling at the delusion.
You don't have to like something, but just to quit because someone had the audacity to think that without your starting QB you barely beat one of the worst Fla teams ever, and you beat a Lousiville team by 10 points( and it was closer than the score indicated) that just got clobbered by a 7-5 USC team where the back-up QB for USC throws for 6 TD passes? And the committee said you weren't top 4-how dare them!
Yet UGA was 29-0 going into the BAMA game and we lost by 3. ANd we get bumped below FSU? 1st to 6th! Yeh, that made a lot of sense! Our guys didn't like it, didn't think it was fair, either, but they didn't quit on each other and abandon ship.
In the end it shows discipline and a team first mentality. You do the right thing by each other.
