Anyone else have trouble sleeping?
Getting old sucks. Sleep is kicking my butt. Recently started waking up at 3am every morning and unable to go back to sleep. A steady stream of random thought racing through my brain. Can't turn my brain off. No problem falling asleep...typically in bed by 10pm. But around 3am every morning I'm wide awake. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?

Had the exact same problem. A friend suggested Melatonin. Over the counter and cheap. Take 10mg. About an hour before bedtime. Generally sleep through the night except for a bathroom break. Won’t hurt to try it.
PS: getting old does ****, but remember you’re getting older or deader.
Coffee [yeah coffee! not all the time] and candy put me to sleep especially the gummy bears [Haribo]. Try reading instead of watching a lot of TV [if you do that] engage your mind with math, numbers, and word games. I write novels, short stories, I go to sleep making up characters situations for the novels. I created a NCAA schools' football [world] game when I was twelve, I still play it. I wake up at 05:30 every AM. It works 95% of the time. I hope that some of these are helpful, GOD bless you. 😎
Lunesta and medical cannabis does the trick.
I usually find that getting more exercise helps with this problem. I have had that exact problem multiple times. I do sleep with a CPAP which is extremely helpful. Melatonin gave me a pretty serious bout of depression, so watch that it is a side effect for some.
Weird thing is I have no problem going to sleep at 10. I'm out cold till 3-3:30am on the button (this morning woke up at 2 😕). Every single day for the last month or two. Bing! Wide awake.
Yeah I agree with others...get the right nighty night THC gummies and your insomnia doesn't stand a chance. Start small and try to keep it as low a dose as is effective. A 5mg does the trick for me.
I exercise regularly. A certified gym-rat. The Marines pounded that into my soul. I also have sleep apnea and wear a CPAP. I've tried melatonin, Motrin PM, various OTC sleeping pills....3am wide awake.
I have a Top Secret clearance for work (I'm a Navy contractor right now). I am not allowed any cannabis or CBD products. I'm not even allowed to invest money in those things.
No TV/blue light is legit recommendation too. It does something to your brain that I can't explain but I've seen sleep improvements
For the last two decades I've experienced the same issue with my sleep patterns. Happens every year in the spring and fall so I attribute it to the subtle changes in seasonal light, and temperature. Broke the pattern last week with three exhausting days of landscaping and spring cleaning around my home. This also cut into my evening wine / cocktail consumption so there's also that to consider. Anyway I'm back on my normal schedule without the need for any type of sleep aid which I certainly have no qualms against, just nice to get by without.
Time change for the hour difference?
I’ve gone through spells of waking up early but try not to think about it as I do think you can set an internal clock. eventually I start sleeping through the night again. I try not to drink anything too late so I won’t have to get up to go to bathroom. But I am a 7 hrs of sleep person. I will not sleep much longer than that no matter when I go to bed
Well, I'm only 23, so I don't have any of these issues. They are all personal problems. /s
Been happening to me for years. I'm use to it now. I'm lucky if I get 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night.
CBT works for a whole lot of things, including insomnia.
In addition to that, if you haven't already, have your blood work done and make sure there are no underlying health issues, in particular, hormone imbalances. Your thyroid, for instance, produces hormones that regulate metabolism. That can easily disrupt your sleep if your levels are off.
