Donald Sutherland passed away today. He was 88. He had nearly 200 acting credits. Some of my favorites were the war-themed movies: The Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heroes, and Mash. Hilarious as Professor Jennings in Animal House: "Try not to lick the paper when you smoke it (Marijuana Cigarette).

M*A*S*H is one of my favorites. I prefer his Hawkeye over Alda's. Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Ordinary People, Klute, Eye of the Needle, Backdraft, Disclosure. The list is ridiculously long, what a talent.
Even got some bonding in with my daughter watching him play President Snow in The Hunger Games. For whatever reason, I think his career somehow got overshadowed by bigger name stars but few have the filmography he does. Never once nominated for an Oscar but did receive an honorary one.
Great actor. Enjoyed a whole lot of his work. He was a very talented man. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
Loved him in MASH, but one of my favorite roles was his portrayal of Mr. Bennett in Pride and Prejudice.
Crossing Lines got overlooked. He was well cast as the wiser, older hand in a vague, international agency.
I liked him best in "Kelly's Heroes " as [Oddball] with Clint Eastwood-[Kelly] and Telly Salavas-[Big Joe]. 😎
I did like him in Pride and Prejudice, better than the rest of the cast. Overall, I'm a bigger fan of the BBC series with Colin Firth as Darcy and Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennett. Adrian Lukis was a most despicable Wickham.
You can’t be saying you disliked Keira Knightley’s Elizabeth Bennett?
for some reason I never realized that his son was Kiefer Sutherland
They never made a big deal out of it, no joint projects etc.
Maybe we could take a break from Stet as GOAT or not and transfer to who are the best ever relatives in acting - Don/Keifer, Henry Fonda/Peter/Jane or others?
Disliked, no. It's a little hard to compare because she was in the movie whereas the other one was a full series.Still I don't think Knightley can hold a candle to Ehle in that role.
Brolin, Baldwin, Eastwood, Howard, Roberts, Fanning, Hutton.
Talentwise, tough to beat the Fondas.
The Bridges: (son Beau, father Lloyd, and son Jeff)
Great family. I like all of them which isn't necessarily the case with other acting families.
Cusack, Penn, Redgrave, Streep, Hawke/Thurman.
Some are not always known if the kids take the dad's name but it's the mom who is the actor. Look at Mariska Hargitay….her mom was Jane Mansfield. Meryl Streep's daughter is Mamie Gummer.
I think the Redgraves can challenge the Fondas for overall talent. Vanessa, Lynn, Corin, Natasha and Joely Richardson.
I remembered that Chris Penn died young but had forgotten he was just 40. I loved him in Footloose.
