Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I really hate to sit in judgement because of My Own **** stunts in My youth. But good gracious how many times does this have to happen before guys get the message Don’t Do It ??
I mean we’ve had Lives Lost at UGA in very recent years. And the difference in my situation and theirs is I didn’t have a scholarship to play football at UGA !! Wow I can’t even begin to know how it must feel to have a scholarship to play for the UGA Dawgs I’ve loved since about age 6 !! Less alone now having NIL !! To Me it’s just to much on the table to risk.
Being a scholarship player at UGA sets you apart and brings all sorts of benefits, But it also brings a certain level of responsibility, and not only to Self. I instantly got nauseated when I saw the headlines about this on a non UGA site. And right before SEC media days no less !! It makes Kirby and the program look bad. Our rivals will be using the THUGA name against us now.
And recruits parents I’m confident DO look at this seriously. Not good, not good at all. You want to be referred to as Young Men, well how about conducting yourselves that way. I’d make them run stadium step gassers until they puked their toenails up !!! And that’d be just the start !!
I hate to say it but these are 17-22 year olds with fast cars and lots of money. I know no one on this board ever sped or did anything **** when they were young. First offense, no drugs, no alcohol, no weapons, no one hurt. One game suspension loss of NIL and other things internally handled. Done. If these guys do it again, then lower the hammer. Remember these are still young men and fairness will be the best medicine.
I wish they would bring in some veteran Marines like yourself and drill the living snot out of Em !!! Give ‘Em a nice heaping dose of what life is like in the USMC !!
I was very honored and privileged to serve with Marines in joint service Navy/USMC funeral detail on my shore duty. We would have 3 Marines and 3 Sailors staggered on each side of the coffin with a Marine Sgt. Maj. at the head of the coffin giving commands.
We were given very appreciative comments from the deceased family and friends numerous times. Ole Sgt. Maj. didn’t tolerate even the tiniest amount of goof off, you had to be at your very sharpest, as it Should be.
I have Tons of respect for Marines and Of Course your being an Officer that certainly includes You. Thank you and ALL our vets here for your service. Semper Fi !!
The part of the brain that understands consequences is not fully developed until the mid 20’s, so for anyone wondering why young kids do **** things like this, there is that.
I did some dumb things as did everyone else on here, so Kirby is just going to have to deal with it. I don’t condone any of it but I’ve never had 85 young men to control either
I think the punishment should be that they have to park their car at Kirby’s house and he gets the keys and is allowed to give them to the player at his discretion. Meanwhile, suspend him a game or two, and then require him to ride a moped like the Aaron Murray’s, Alec Ogletrees and Todd Gurleys were GRATEFUL to have to get around town.
I think this is a reasonable first offense consequence because it not only brings a suspension; but also reinforces the PRIVILEGE that having a nice car is and how it ought to be handled/appreciated. Just my $0.02.
