SVPG set the standard, Jared Wilson will meet and exceed and Cortez will fall right in line and the standard will continue to grow! Center is the keystone of every offense…..Smart, Strong, and Quick….UGA is becoming Center U!

Sounds like a young man with some sense. Talk logic to your teammates and tell them to slow down. They don’t help the team, their families or themselves if they’re suspended (or worse).

Add his humility, hard work and team first, and you have an even rarer species… the kind that perfectly fits Kirby's culture. Go Dawgs!

Schools using negative recruiting against UGA by telling this young man he will be nothing more than a number in Athens. Being a number.. in the NFLdraft isn't too shabby.

The Cortez Smith story is shaping up as that of another stellar UGA player. State of GA player, 4 yr starter in 7A, intelligent player emulating SVPG, already polished working at C and 300 workouts under his belt working with OL guru McAlmont. The UGA C position should be in good hands. 2 years of Jared Wilson followed by 3 years of Smith.

There is a concern about UGA recruiting. UGA currently has the 3rd ranked (Rivals) '25 recruiting class. But that is based more on the total number of recruits. The UGA average per recruit (3.71) ranks 12th (Rivals) overall. That is a concern.

Recruiting has changed. Recruits want to be paid up front. To its credit UGA is not getting into bidding wars buying recruits like Ohio, TX and AL. But the playing field is being leveled for those teams that don't spend with reckless abandon.

More and more UGA's success will depend on identifying quality players with high ceilings and getting them to their ceilings w/in 2-3 years.

With the '24 UGA schedule, UGA is a lock to win no more than 6 games. That UGA returns CBeck at QB is a big plus towards attaining the playoffs this season. CBeck (and others) must stay healthy and play at a very high level for UGA to beat this schedule and play well in the playoffs this year. Next year will be a whole different story..

Anyone who doesn't think a 12th rated recruiting class (avg grade/recruit) can sustain the level of success achieved over the last 3 years. Especially when UGA isn't recruiting at the highest level at QB and WR.

not sure which metric you’re using but we are within half a point of any rival. The game is still won in the trenches. When we add Terry and Griffin that’ll be even better.

We have Jared Curtis committed for next year who’s either top rated or top 3 depending on where you look. WR recruiting is not what wins the biggest football games. Ask an Ohio State fan.

There’s nothing wrong with UGA recruiting.

You assume UGA will get Terry and Griffin. Based on NIL trends and the recent history of state of GA top players going elsewhere the probability of UGA getting more than 1 of Terry, Griffin and Sanders is pretty small. Same with Curtis. No guarantee he signs with UGA in a year and a half.

Using the metric stated. Avg ranking of all commits. UGA ranked 12th (Rivals). That means 11 teams have higher ranked players committed, right now on average, than UGA does. Look at UGA's draft history. Highest drafted , biggest impact players were the highest rated recruits. SBIV? Mostly carried by high ranked teammates.

The trend is undeniable. It is a different recruiting era. NIL is king. UGA has been missing out on top GA talent for years. UGA is in a better position than most teams due to development capabilities. That also means UGA is not head and shoulders above any top10 program. UGA is a lock to win nothing. Parity has come to CFB.

You really want to ask OSU ( or AL? ) fans the value of having star wr's available vs UGA in playoff games? Really? Odds are had those teams had their wr's for those games UGA would be at 44 years and counting since the last championship.

which Georgia talent have we missed on that we really missed? Caleb Downs? Who was likely to never come here?

There is no trend. The sample size is too small. To my eyes it seems as though Kirby’s strategy works just fine. Especially considering we almost hit a threepeat last year, haven’t lost a regular season game since 2020 and have put almost 40 players in the league.

How many titles have Ohio won with all that wonderful WR talent since 2015? What about Bama? What have they won with all that WR talent where they had to play all the games in full stadiums?

Football is run the ball, stop the run, rush the passer, protect the passer. We do all those things amazingly and will continue to do so.

You sound like you’re freaking out about recruiting in July. Never a good idea.
