Yup…feels like they may be stretching a bit to come up with another season of episodes. IMO, probably has run its course at this point.
Yep. Just watched all 5 episodes. I agree with Palm City….it's getting a bit absurd and tired. Each season gets a little less awesome. Very 90210-ish now. It's best if watched as a light comedy. Next 5 episodes come out in November.
i mean, after season 1 it was all kind of absurd. It’s one of those shows you don’t question it, just ride with it.
Very true. What I miss about season 1 are all the flashbacks to the original movies and nameless civilian characters making snide comments about the karate obsession in the valley. Seemed like there was a lot more self-deprecating humor in season 1. They made fun of the absurdity. The show got real serious around season 3.
I just watched the first episode of Season 6 last night and I had the same though about 90210 as you. High school kids running amok and having random gang-style brawls in public places or people's homes is ridiculous enough but their parents and other adults doing the same thing is even more absurd.
There's a little 15 minute thing called "Inside the Dojo" where the actors talk about the season and what's to come in November. Based on what they are saying, the producers are raising the level of fighting in the next series of episodes. Like they are actually bringing in martial arts experts to provide more realism and more intensity. The only actors in the series who actually are trained and are experienced are Robbie, Hawk, Johnny, and Kreese.

originally the show was on the YouTube streamer and when that went away, Netflix took over and I’m guessing they had some notes for the creators about how they wanted it to go.
I’ve enjoyed the show overall but agree it’s time to end as they keep having to come up with more and more absurd plots to keep it going. There a time for all things to end and for this show season 6 is it.
'Cobra Kai' is ending after six seasons. Here's when the final episodes will drop. (msn.com)
Sounds like the producers may have been reading this thread. This will be the last season.
Enjoyed the show as well. I have to skip over some of the scenes of the kids hanging out at the arcade or whatever. Im really only interested in the adult side of the story.
Really curious where they are going with the Miagi has a criminal past stuff.
There were YouTube videos out there for years. Fan theories that kind of thing. One that was always interesting and got a lot of attention was a Fan Theory one that had Daniel as the bad guy.
Daniel threw the first punch. Daniel stole Johnny's girlfriend etc.
Yep, there were even some mentions of that in Season one…about Daniel being the bully. I have a feeling this Miagi criminal past stuff will turn out to be a case of mistaken identity…an "all Japs look the same" kind of deal during the pre and post war anti-Japanese America. Daniel-san and Johnny will be able to clear his name by discovering the real bad guy or something. Just a hunch. The franchise simply can't let Miagi be an actual criminal.
That's also a good point about kids storylines vs the adult storylines. Seems like the early seasons were mostly about the adults doing adult things and the kids were mostly for filler and background stuff. Then the kid's drama starting being the focus and it turned into 90210. I think the producers lost track of the target audience….adults who grew up with Karate Kid.
By the way, I just realized that Daniel's wife, Amanda, played Sheldon Cooper's hot-azz big sister, Missy, on Big Bang.
That's some IMDB-level intel there, brother! 👍️
