My guess as to why showing mobile is 5G internet….maybe
I'm on 5G and always see my IP and not IPv6 from both my Mac and iPad. From my understanding is that the IPv6 is in continual search of an "floating" IP and catches it. So in other words, a PC or desktop will use a standard one or two IP addresses associated with your location.
The IPv6 is constantly searching and rotating IP addresses with no correlation of a set location.
Now, by no means am I that technical to understand all this, but just what I had researched back in the days when we were having to block "whack-a-mole" trolls they kept trying to get back on the board after being banned.
I'm on Windstream Kinetic as well and do have these problems. I have a PC but not a Mac.
I am old…..I don't know what I am on…..
🤣😎
Still a head scratcher. Don, have you tried rebooting both your modem and wifi router? If not, unplug both for a few minutes, replug and wait until both has establish connectivity. Once reconnect is established, check to make sure all your devices are connected again. You might have to go into settings on certain devices, but most will auto connect.
Rebooting the modem usually resets the IP address.
An attorney that doesn't know who he's paying for his internet, go figure..🙄😜😉 JK!
Also, I'm seeing a standard IP address on your post. Have you tried the Hate Zone lately?
yes, same ol' same ol'
still the same on the floriduh hate thread and the sentel intel thread for me.
😔😭🤔
my firm actually 🤣🤣😎!!!
Lol!! Nice!! Your IP address showed again in this post. Another guess is a bug from a link that others click on too. Just throwing out guesses out there. Seeing that it's only affecting some, and not all, there has to some common denominator somewhere. Not sure if IT is even working on it. It's like tapping Fort Knox just to find access to them. But I'll keep trying!!
@JeffSentell what you say??

I wonder what link I could have clicked on within the forum community unless it was a twitter posted within an article on Dawgnation.
That's the only thing i can think of….. I did let Jeff know that he keeps posting and I and others keep "not seeing"…..
As usual, I absolutely appreciate all you are trying to do for this problem!!!!!
What's weird is that at home my service provider is Xfinity/Comcast and I use an Ipad…..
and I still have the same trouble as I get here on my desktop…..
SMH
Always a good rule is never click an executable link unless you know the source…..
Check your monthly bill - it should give you a hint. I know that because I am old - I have "wisdom"!
I'll give that a try. Thank you.
